I was thinking the same thing. I also think he'd respect Doc more than Luke. Only real reason to choose the Lakers would be the prestige factor but you're getting the same market with the Clippers, possibly more liberty to mold the team in your image, and he'd potentially bring titles to two teams that never had any. They're also an intriguing option. Although the Lakers have more young talent and a top 3 pick to work with.

the salary cap is 94million this summer. The Clippers have 77 million on the books for the summer, which gives them 19m in cap space. A max for LeBron is 30m. Unless he took an 11m paycut, it couldnt happen unless they moved some pieces. Trading Chris Paul and Blake Griffin is out of the question considering they both have early termination options on their contracts after next season. Trading De'Andre is hustling backwards. They could move Reddikk possibly, but could only fetch a more expensive contract unless they just give him up for peanuts.

Meanwhile, Lakers have the most cap space in the league as of now. They will legit have close to 60m in cap room, possibly more. They could sign atleast 2 max players, possibly 3 if the Jordan Clarkson situation is handled properly.

DO I see this happening, no...But Lakers make more sense financially.
