Adam Silver must have sent out a memo for the players and media to shyt on Memphis. Why all of a sudden is the media running hit pieces on the city of Memphis? They are definitely moving to Nashville.

They not moving to Nashville. The city isn't invested in the Grizzlies or basketball like that and they just funded new stadiums for Nashville SC and the Titans. They not taking the Grizzlies unless the current owner, or sells to a new owner, specifically wanna go to Nashville AND fund their own relo (new arena, training facilities, etc). The people of Nashville aren't paying for another sports team any time soon, they'd vote it down.

Somebody definitely has it out for Memphis and the Grizzlies, though.

Look, Memphis is a wack as fukk, but I feel like the NBA or some entity is pushing narratives to get the team out of Memphis. You don't have to do that, just move the fukking team. It's insulting to the people Memphis to be this passive aggressive about the city and team.

Memphis (and other cities too honestly) is a prime example of it not being a great place for black people despite having a lot of black people. Nashville is a superior city in every way and has plenty of black people.

What amazes me is how Sacramento managed to keep their team after everything. Stern fukking hated Kings, brought the crooked refs to help the Lakers, Maloof brothers were morons, but Vivek is even a bigger moron. They were supposed to move to Anaheim, then Seattle and they still managed to stay in Sacramento while being one of the worst franchises in the league.

Because with all the losing Sacramentans still pack out G1, its a true basketball city that loves and embraces the Kings.

Don't do this, when you account for all blacks/total black population, in 2024 Los Angeles has a population of 392,938 vs Memphis 391,660. Memphis is way smaller of a city so of course it's percentage is way higher.

The actual size of the community, not just the percentage, is the same in both cities.

The face of the league should be more careful with his language. A city like Memphis has room to grow, it's current status is not the end of it's story. I am not of the belief that a breh with Lebron's status and wealth is obligated to become this great benefactor but he should at least no disrespect a city with as much culture and history as Memphis. It's the very least he can do, I don't think he spoke out of malice but he revealed a certain carelessness.

Alot of places have room to grow. Memphis is stagnant though as plenty of places continue to surpass it.
