I've been hearing people saying that the lakers can sign both Lebron and Melo. I thought when Kobe signed his latest deal it eliminated the opportunity to sign both 2 max guys? Or is the idea that Melo and LeBron would take pay cuts to pay with Mamba?

The Lakers have only 35.1 million on the books for next season and the salary cap space is expected to be at 63.2 million. That gives them 28.1 million to work with which is already enough to sign either LeBron or Melo outright to the max (23.7 million) if they wanted too.

If they are somehow able to trade Steve Nash (throwing in the #7 pick as trade bait as well) that frees up another 9.7 million which would give them a total of 37.8 million to work with and only Kobe Bryant, Robert Sacre, and Kendall Marshall on the roster.

They could sign LeBron and Carmelo to 15 million a piece (30 million total) and put the rest of the money on the backend, just like the Heat did when they signed their Big 3, and use the remaining 7.8 million to flesh out the roster with 7 more players......who would most likely be extremely young or D-League players

He just did what everyone knew he was going to do anyway. Nothing wrong with him checking out his options and going for the most money this time as well as the best chance to get him some more rings.

LeBron for Griffin and Granger or Redikk :ohlawd: :blessed:

My nikka paul can finally get a ring after that basketball reasons bullshyt

I would trade lebron for CP3 and fillers

you need blake and jordan to be a more balanced team.

Jordan
Blake/Davis
Lebron/Barnes
Reddikk/crawford
collison

you would just need a backup PG, and another big
Collison

Yes, but Miami wouldn't. They'd laugh in your face for offering a small, oft-injured point guard for the best player in basketball.

If Lebron indicates he's leaving and you trade him for the best PG in the game, that's a win/win.

With CP3 miami can still win the east, granted, wade opts in for less along with bosh, and they sign say Pau Gasol and or Zach Randolph to cap friendly deals.

Bosh/Gasol
Randolph/Lewis
BIG ASS HOLE AT THIS POSITION
Flabby N Wade/ Jesus Piece
Cole/Napier

that team can still win 50+ games and make the finals if d gawd isn't healthy and melo does not go to chicago

You're not dealing in reality.

If LeBron says he's leaving, it's BECAUSE WADE WON'T OPT FOR LESS MONEY.

In which case, why would they facilitate his move to the clippers, and take back a point guard that might already be in decline? To pair him next to wade, who's also in decline?

Doesn't make sense. Then they're gonna sign Gasol AND Randolph?

:mjlol:Math and logic, dawg.

Slickback has already said he's not helping neither of them move anywhere with a sign and trade.

My brother's keeper
An Micky Arison is worth $7 Billion dollars, why does Bron need to take a paycut. If Arison does not want to go over the luxury tax like the Nets, then he is not worthy of making Bron stay. Commitment goes both ways. Plain and simple.
What has the Nets accomplished?

Throwing good money after bad doesn't solve anything
