A visual album is generally a narrative film driven by the music. Many artists from Michael Jackson (Moonwalker) to Nas (Nasir) have released visual albums to accompany their music releases

Beyonce has three for Beyonce, Lemonade, and Black is King

Nas for Nasir



Michael Jackson Moonwalker



And so on and so forth

The director of Black is King is directing Slick Rick’s visual album so it should be fire from a cinematography perspective.

Rick can get beats from almost any producer. He had a single out maybe 10 years ago and he chose some terrible throwback beat, no project came from it. I hope he's well guided for sure

Im not sayin it was a bad album! But at 24 songs it was a little bloated and there was a lot of filler in there.
Beats were also just "ok" but nothing on the level that Rick really needs.

Rick flows best over smooth soulful beats, like on that Outkast Art of storytelling track
