I wish they would have just put Carey in the role and kept everything else, he would have really taken it to the next level IMHO.
That said NPH was alright overall, but the concept is already repeitive can't imagine this being a 13 book series with the same arc for all the books

6 episodes in. Show is doing a good job adapting the books with the mix of comedy, mystery, and overall dark tone. A lot of the humor might not land with most people but I'm digging it and find myself laughing often. If you can accept early on how absurd everything is (characters, dialogue, scenes), you'll enjoy it more.

This is what ruined it for me. I mean I guess it is for kids but I could not understand why no adults could recognize Olaf in those basic ass disguises Ultimately I felt like I wasted 7 hours(skipped ep 7 Just to see the payoff) watching this. It's not for me.

there are a lot of really funny/witty jokes/one liners that are done so subtly people might not even notice it. It reminds me of Jay-z, dude has some of the illest double/triple/quadruple entendres but when he says them it sounds so nonchalant that it goes over your head. I rewatched episode 1 and noticed stuff I didn't before. shyt is hilarious. I never saw the Jim Carrey flick so I'm also not constantly comparing it to the film or his performance. I love the surrealist Tim Burton vibe.

I never had any exposure to this at all. I'm enjoying it a lot though. I wanna finish the season then watch the movie and read the books but that may be too much.

Count Olaf is a greatly written character. I can't stand his ass.

Haven't finished but thats the problem. Its too repetitive. Even though i enjoy the acting.
