theres literally no defense for the first 43 minutes

That's all LeBron and those dudes.. they never use to do that until LeBron and his gen took over the game. Key word there is took over.. because LeBron was playing with the old gen too.. and the game was still pretty good. Now that LeBron and his gen completely own the game, shyt is trash. The all star game use to be litt as fukk..

Man stop, all-star games have always been no-defense fests

Scores have skyrocketed over the last couple games because they're taking a lot more 3's

My Pops Forever RIP
  1. It's been going downhill for a long time... it's time to go back to basics... make it worth it for the big names to get involved in the contests...

Put up prize money for the events, do something like 5 Mil for the Dunk contest 3 Mil for the 3 point contest ect... Player gets half, Players charity of choice gets the other half... NBA comes out looking good, Players getting a nice chunk of money for winning, and fans get the return of All-Star weekend glory. It's a win/win/win
If you did that, actually more wack players would sign up.

Ultimately in 2017 we like the dunks in traffic. Players just wanna fall back and look cool on Saturday

man you cant have a great dunk contest every year. the best dunkers dont want to do it every year, and its hard to come up with something no one has seen before, especially if you have seen those professional dunkers. also they are probably afraid to embarrass themselves if they cant make the dunk on the first try and have people like yall complaining they cant make dunks like they used to.....when them dudes back in the 80s never really did anything that difficult anyway.
The bottom line is most of those professional sinkers would suck if they had to have a NBA regimen. Props to all of the dunked. This was a very entertaining event. I just wish Gordon was 100%

Dunk Contest isn't going to be great every year.

There was some :russell: in the 90's as well.
I thought it was pretty good. A lot of difficult dunks. Some of the best dunkers. I didn't think this came close to last year but that was the best ever. You had two GOAT dunkers.

For all of the 80s talk. None of their dunks were that difficult. Larry Nance dunk was hard but most were not that impressive.

That's a lie. You want to bet your account on that? Why do you nikkas say this? Post a pre LeBron all star game and show me where they aren't playing any semblance of defense.

I'm watching the 2003 game right now and they are playing defense fam.

Scores have skyrocketed because they aren't playing any defense on those 3 point attempts or layups. Smh

149 3 point attempts last year. 49 3 point attempts in 2003. *Pretends to be surprised there were a lot more points scored in 2016*

:mjlol: at you blaming LeBron. Nevermind, carry on and push that agenda

if they took away props they would be doing dunks from the 80s :francis: hell even with props they're doing the same dunks

I think the main problem is that their is only so much you can do in a dunk contest that hasn't been seen before. I think we've seen pretty much all that can physically be done in a dunk contest.

And people talking about bigger names, but some of those said bigger names don't have creativity when it comes to dunking. Which is why, imo, LeBron hasn't competed. Did people forget about his high school dunk contest? The dunks weren't impressive, he just jumped higher than everybody else. And some of the bigger names have already competed. Giannis, Wall, Blake Griffin, Paul George, DeMar Derozan have already competed in the past.

Take away the prop dunks and everyone goes back to trying to be Vince Carter.... and that... would make the contest great again
no, they would just copy the Vince carter dunks
I always said Dwight Howard's contests were the best in the last 10 years because of how creative he was. His 2008 showmanship was brilliant and made the dunk contest fun even when there aren't many dunks left
Aaron Gordon channeled some of that magic (pun intended) last year
