It was RIDICULOUS in Atlanta during that time period bruh. It was really like the dark ages for simply being black at all in the city. I honestly thought it was something in the water because nikkas turned into straight c00ns before my eyes. It was like one of those viral diseases from 28 Days Later, nikkas outta nowhere was jumping up shouting "YUUUUUUU
LLLLLEEEE" like that shyt was the freshest song ever. That was THE year I completely stopped listening to the radio. c00nery took over the world...
I was so goddamn happy that Nas dropped Hip Hop Is Dead I brought that album three times and was giving it out to certain friends like "LISTEN nikka
" listen to some REAL shyt. Nas, Common, Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco were the saving graces of that era, along with underground classics like Blu & Exile's Below The Heavens...
