when i realized that souljah boi was indeed actually "blowing up" i wanted to kill people

It was RIDICULOUS in Atlanta during that time period bruh. It was really like the dark ages for simply being black at all in the city. I honestly thought it was something in the water because nikkas turned into straight c00ns before my eyes. It was like one of those viral diseases from 28 Days Later, nikkas outta nowhere was jumping up shouting "YUUUUUUU
LLLLLEEEE" like that shyt was the freshest song ever. That was THE year I completely stopped listening to the radio. c00nery took over the world...

I was so goddamn happy that Nas dropped Hip Hop Is Dead I brought that album three times and was giving it out to certain friends like "LISTEN nikka:pacspit:" listen to some REAL shyt. Nas, Common, Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco were the saving graces of that era, along with underground classics like Blu & Exile's Below The Heavens...

we're not out of the dark yet.

2011-2013 has been even worst.

sure, '07-10 had lower lows, but it also had higher highs.

also, I think some of yall are basing this too much off the radio. and even then, i'll take wack music with party value over these participation trophy rappers that yall are trying to hype up.
Co-sign. As bad as 2007-2010 was, I will still take that period over 2011-2014 (yep, I'm predicting the future).

other than Gucci's classic mixtape run and Curren$y starting to cook. and a few gems here and there. theres nothing great about those 4 years
Gucci man and "Classic" in the same sentence? Never mind. I should of stayed quiet.

Besides Nas Life is Good, I cant think of much from last year that was hot. Unless you call Gucci man, 2 chainz, nicki minaj and all that trash "hot" music.
