I didnt watch the video, but MY point is, the black church back then was more about progression of the race, being a tactical place of planning where blacks could be SAFE, a meeting place for us to discuss things amongst ourselves w/o fear of white ppl hearing our plans.

So if ppl are criticizing that, then I disagree. But that's not what the black church is anymore.

There are only a few black churches that are evil. But those make a huge impact......and they suck billions from the black community. We don't have billions to have go to these crooks.

Also, encouraging people to get away from the religious practices of our slave holders isn't usually promoted in the black church. Honestly, some of the ways black churches especially in the South are ran sorta c00nish. Also in places like Detroit as well. Not empowering, and definitely not enlightening.

Also, in our position waiting for a savior isn't exactly the best strategy.

The southern Christian leadership conference however was forged when 50 black horrible idiotic christian ministers met whose goal was to xooridiate and support nonviolent direct actions to desegregating.

However their headquarters was never a church

People go to these fewmegachurches like potters house, world chambers and judge all black churches off that.

What you're doing is no different. You're generalizing lavish lifestyles to megachurches...... but forgetting there's still plenty of smaller preachers out here using church money for clothes, Cadillacs, etc. And if many of them could get on the level of megachurches they would do it on a bigger level.

But it goes on in many churches regardless of size.

And MY point is, who are you to say all of those same things don't still happen in the Black Church everyday? The Black Christian church is still about progressing the race, still a trying to figure out how to make our neighborhoods and communities safer, and still planning outreach programs and discussing the state of our race in the nation. Not just every Sunday but everyday, anyone who actually is part of these regular non tv-broacasted mega-churches can tell you that

The black church is nothing more than a body of people.

The civil rights movement didn't even start with them.

Churches were included only after the potential of masses of bodies was realized.

Not to mention MLK was a socialist who cooped black liberation theology as a means of getting his message across...i'd say black churches have a very limited scope at the end of the day.

Plus, what do "churches" have that other non-superstitious bodies of people have?

The church was used as a safe haven for Blacks and our children. That's a fact and it's known here in the south.
