its pretty obvious. just like when every other big artist clearly loses momentum, even if the album sells well.

- mixed reviews from the public.
- popularity not where it used to be.

come on breh. Michael Jackson's name alone just sold an album recently.

Mixed reviews from the public means what exactly. Plenty of albums (including some of Michael Jackson's best material) wasn't met with the greatest critical response upon release. It has nothing to do with sales. There's songs from Dangerous that are classic and hold up to any album released during that era.

I've always thought Off The Wall was the best album in his discography. However, Thriller is the album that truly defined Michael Jackson as not only an artist, but an entertainer and icon as well. It was the first time the world was introduced to the moonwalk, the one glove, etc. So I can see how Thriller overshadows Off The Wall.
