Mike's voice was on point, always was..He didnt have that soulful voice later on in his career because he wasnt singin soul songs anymore..like he did as a child.

These nikkas man :smh:

Nobody saw This Is It? He was still killing Human Nature in rehearsals like :wow:

Edit: When he battled shorty in rehearsal singing I Just Can't Stop Loving You :damn:

I think hes referring to pop-mike. a lot of people aren't too crazy about his singing at that point. usually oldheads that were around from the start.

the old Motown J5 stuff tho.:whew:

The thing that pisses me off about oldheads is like with everything else they are ignorant and dont try anything new.

They use that shyt that they stopped fukking with him after he got weird with the surgery.

Ok but what does that have to do with music? I bet 95 percent of them never listened to bad or dangerous.

Btw breh Im not getting mad at you just them. If they end up not liking it thats fine...but none of them even listened to those albums

nah. I'm not just talking about oldheads that are stuck in the past. I'm also talking about oldheads that listen to hip-hop and have mixtapes in their cars as we speak.

its moreso about the decrease of soul and the increase of pop. and his vocals clearly weren't the same. theres a ton of acts that oldheads were generally done with around this time actually. that early-mid '80s crossover chase.

and its not about the surgery. a lot of oldheads had moved on when he dropped thriller. the surgery was after that. but yea, a lot of the elder fellers don't like the glove & all the "hee-hee" chit.:pachaha:

dangerous was :flabbynsick: breh. and I was a huge mike fan anticipating that as a 6-year old who looked at him as a super-hero entertainer. very disappointing tape. teddy riley did his thing tho.

Your pops statement sounds dumb as fukk. I mean there were trash songs MJ recorded for thriller that he thankfully left off. One of them was called carousel where the first line he is talking about ponies and unicorns or some shyt.

But the songs on the official album ? :dahell: how were they not hit singles? What kind of dumb rationality is it to say the chemistry was the only reason it was good

Speaking of Mike. These are some random ass points but i wish he had named the Bad album "Smooth Criminal". Do u agree? I mean I love Bad but the title seems corny in hindsight.

Also Prince released like 7 albums in the 80s, Mike should have released more. I understand waiting a while after thriller and i know his reason besides wanting to take his time was that he didnt wanna overexpose himself.

But he should have at least released 2 albums at the very least.

One thing i will say that i think you will agree with is that overtime i think mike focused more on music videos than he should have did on actual content.

Like when he said after thriller sold all those copies, he wanted to sell 100 million with bad. That is a dangerous mindset to have.

THRILLER = KFC

OFF THE WALL = POPEYES

Thriller is like KFC everybody white black asian has had it......and its available everywhere

off the wall is like Popeyes...Black People love it!!!...and it's usually found in urban areas

every black household i went to back in the day IF they had records HAD a copy of OFF THE WALL

Off the wall gritty soulful sound was perfect for cookouts, family reunions or just music to play at the crib

and I WANNA ROCK WITH YOU is better than ANY SINGLE ON THRILLER

in reference to my previous post, some label put this out just months after BAD dropped.

my pops has this, but I never knew when it dropped.

nah. the term "bad" may be corny now but it was the chit back then. matter fact, mike should've gave some of the proceeds of that album to ll cool j.

that singles wave for "bad" lasted darn near 3 years. he milked almost every track on there. if you can get away with doing that, theres no need to drop a new album.

ehh. mike was an entertainer. the videos & stage shows were his biggest draw. honestly, outside of a handful of tracks, I don't go back & listen to any of his post-"off the wall" stuff in stereo like that. I need the visuals.

yea, mike's mindset was overall dangerous(no pun intended). from what I heard, he once said he wanted to be the king of the world or something even crazier than that.
but yea, that 100 mil is a terrible mindset.
