Every other MJ album has an unfair advantage, as Thriller only has 9 songs. Every song on is exceptional except The Girl Is Mine (Say Say Say is by far the better McCartney duet). Baby Be Mine is just mediocre.

Invincible was slept on. I think Dangerous got a fair amount of praise.

:wtf:

Best thing about dangerous is the cover art :ld: there's a few cuts on there I like..will you be there, remember the time, and even though some might call em corny I don't mind black or white, heal the world, or gone too soon. But between dangerous and history disc2 I don't know which one is my least favorite mj cd

Both are classic but I gotta go for Thriller. That album was fukking catching lightning in a bottle. :ohlawd:

Every single song on it was EPIC, not a single weak track on it. That's what seperates it from everything else in his discography.

I been telling yall for the longest that "off the wall" gets more love by people that were actually of age when this stuff was going on.

I mean, maybe not by pop fans but im talking bout the real o.g. mike fans.

He dropped 3 straight all time classic albums in a row(Off The Wall/Thriller/Bad):takedat:

Then everything after that was just OK to me:manny: Since he died there's been tons of revionist history on Mike. Now I hear dudes saying Invincible was some great album:huhldup: When at the time(and it still is) average at best

Out of all the albums MJ himself said that Off The Wall was the album he was most proud of cuz he finally got a chance to record and do the type of songs he wanted. But when he got snubbed at the Grammys he pretty much said "Watch when i drop my NEXT album :youngsabo:" and the rest is HIStory :mj:

Now IMO...I prefer Off The Wall more then Thriller..just by a LITTLE bit...I enjoy it just a tad bit more then Thriller..even through Thriller had more classic hits on it...Off The Wall has more tracks on there for you to groove too..on some grown folks shyt if that makes any sense.

Thriller was only 9 tracks and it ended right when shyt was getting good..Off The Wall had 10 tracks and it had a monster opening track and a monster finale track....

At the end of the day..they both :mj:

Love this thread tho because it really is hard to choose :sadbron:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I agree wholeheartedly...it's the more cohesive flowing album and its prolly the only one u can just throw on at a party and have people on the dance floor the whole time...every time I think about it I get in the mood to listen to it..

Thriller. That post disco era/boogie era sound of the Thriller production by Quincy is just crazy.... Off the Wall is nice, dont get me wrong, but it aint messing with Lady In My Life or Baby Be Mine and the alike.

I will say though Dangerous > Bad

Bad hasnt aged well at all, and includes the horrible "speed demon"

im not shytting on it..i like the song but it wasn't no highlight on off the wall at all

Different strokes for different folks I suppose :manny: That song is a highlight for me.

Anyway, 'Wanna be startin' something' and 'Beat It' is what gives the edge to Thriller for me. He was a pure genius for coming up with those two songs. :whew:
