Let's be honest, if you can't find a job right now, you don't actually want one

Goodness...Republicans have fukked over the populace mentally to think they don't deserve shyt.

This is the problem. We have been convinced people don't deserve a living wage. This is the inherent learned cruelty of American life.

People are homeless and jobless? Its their fault...not the fact that capitalism has made the divide between the haves and the have nots farther and farther.
This is why Marx said the workers should own their means of production.

People will laugh it off and say "oh, people flipping burgers shouldn't make $20" or whatever. The fact is, they should make as much profit as they're making. Instead, all that surplus capital is going directly to some corporate CEO who's doing far less labor than the people at the bottom, meanwhile benefiting the most because the people at the bottom simply aren't being paid as much as they're producing and the difference is pocketed by the upper class.

It literally doesn't matter what the labor is: if you're selling used cars, flipping burgers, stocking shelves, programming code, etc. your wage shouldn't be limited just because it's considered less skill-based, if what you're doing ends up making that company excessive profits.

That isn't how a franchise works
People choose not to benefit from the surplus to avoid the risk
You can start your own business but most people don't want the risk associated with that
that's why they get a job instead

So it's impossible to get a job in any area without a ridiculously high COL? :skip:

Michigan.

Even now it's not that hard to find an apartment for under $1000/mo. For $1500+ you can basically live in a gated community (in some cities) or get a house. Obviously some parts are more expensive but it's not like you have to live in those places.

You don't HAVE to pay 2000+/mo for rent/mortgage, that's a choice. Nothing wrong with it if you can afford it, but it's a choice.
Well…that’s frigid ass Michigan…I’m in Florida rent prices doubled in the last 5 years…hell the apt I had in 2012 was 800 today it’s 15

I had to cuss out a nikka today outside the dollar store.. nikka asking me for a dollar

Told this 20 something year old nikka, go in the store and fill out a application or go somewhere else and get a job..

nikkas have no skills but refused to work jobs where highly skilled requirement isn’t necessary and paying 13 up to 18 dollars a hour , but beg for 8 hours for change

I know some of y'all are out of touch when y'all are recommending STEM, Trades, and CDL  When we talk about a group of people, these aren't realistic nuanced solutions. Note the word Nuanced.

You actually think the bolded is good?:dahell:

There’s a reason why they have to beg people to work for that measly pay. No one with fukking sense is going to put up with rude and combative customers and overzealous managers for such a low pay unless they literally have no other option.

If you are an unskilled worker, 13/hr is great pay

I’m going to be honest. Alot of folks are just lazy and/or too prideful. Sometimes too dumb and didn’t learn anything past the 5th grade.

When I was a supervisor at a warehouse making 70k a year. I would interview people for jobs $20 & up and most sucked at it. I would extend an offer to some only for them to come onboard and be lazy, fall into “warehouse life”, not comprehend basic shyt, not be assertive, have a terrible attitude, or have terrible attendance.

There is so much opportunities in logistics and warehouse for undereducated people, but good help is truly hard to find and our people especially brought that street mentality to work to often and/or wasn’t with change or growth.

In warehouses the key is to not be dumb and to be on time. Just get your foot in the door, exhibit some leadership qualities, and make it known that you’re interested in a management level position. Learn to navigate through warehouse politics. All you need to do is become a lead and ACTUALLY do your job and treat people with respect… you’ll set yourself up for a good career with a little patience.

Facts, its a wild number I think it’s like 60% of adults in American can’t read at a 6th grade level

Also people act like everyone has a job they can just go to another state to find. A lot of people have jobs that simply have no market in areas with a significantly lower cost of living.
