No he did not. Dude had zero championship rings or playoff success in the '80's. He put up gaudy numbers due to his 25 spg and filled up highlight reels but he most certainly didn't dominate shyt.
In the 80s (1985-1989....5 years he played), he averaged 32.6 ppg, 6.2 rebs, 5.9 assts, 2.8 stls, 1.2 blks on 51.3% FG in the regular season and 35.6 ppg, 6.8 rebs, 6.6 assts, 2.4 stls, 1.1 blks on 50% FG in the playoffs.
He was a 5x All-Star, NBA MVP, NBA Defensive Player Of The Year, 4x All-NBA (3x 1st Team), 2x Defensive Team (Both 1st team), Finished in the top 2 of the MVP voting 3x out of the 5 years, led his team to the NBA playoffs all 5 years including an Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 1989
People like to bring up his losses but, using context, look at who he LOST to...some of the greatest teams of all time: The 1986 & 1987 Boston Celtics and the 1988 & 1989 "Bad Boys" Detroit Pistons.
Then the loss in the playoffs his rookie year against the Milwaukee Bucks was him as a rookie vs prime Terry Cummings/Sidney Moncrief/Paul Pressey with Ricky Pierce coming off the bench. That team won 59 games that year.and finished with the 3rd best record in the entire NBA that season behind only the Celtics & Lakers.
You're telling me that Jordan didnt dominate in the 80s because his team was losing against some of the greatest NBA teams ever assembled?
