look, i'm no big sean fan but why are you guys pressing to see him fail so much? out of all the nikkas that got signed in the last 7 years, sean has grinded the hardest and had the most heart out of everyone alongside cole. i mean, i admit his flow can sound repetitive and gimmicky at times but he's by no means a bad rapper. he just has to find his identity outside of the adlibs and that rapidfire cadence he abuses in his flows. ye' hand picked sean himself and we know kanye has an eye for true talent. i just feel as though sean is one of those rappers that have slipped through the cracks as far as mentor development. ye' sees sean when he can, but he's doing mostly everything all by himself. i feel like if kanye would include sean the same way he included cudi in the 808s days and really let him be apart of the creative process, he would be in a much better position. i can tell sean is creative, but right now he's trying to go with what's expected of him instead of digging deep. ya'll acting like Detroit wasn't a MAJOR MAJOR improvement over FF. he listened to his critics and got better. like i said, i'm no big sean fan, but i observe and take note of what he's doing....and for the cards he's been dealt and how he came in during a time when all of the label situations between def jam and good music were murky and transitioning, he's done well.

That's because he's a corny trend hopping type nikka. He doesn't seem to have anything unqiue about him. Just sounds like another "p*ssy/money/punchline" type rapper we all hear about today. I bet 6-7 years ago he was rapping about typical drugs/gun/grimy type just like any other Detriot rapper during the time the gangsta rap phrase was still in effect.

So Sean only raps about nothing but p*ssy/money/sex? How you gonna say you a Big Sean fan. It's seems like a lot of yall nikkas started listening to him once he blew up. Go back and listens to his earlier work. It's almost like y'all skipped through his substance records.

Big Sean - Finally Famous - NoDJ

Most of these records were recorded in 06/07. Sean was never on that grimy/gun rap. He has always said his biggest influences were Kanye and Mase.

false. We got nikkas hating off their own assumptions now :heh:

And for those talking about his subject matter, if you actually listened to his mixtapes and album alot of his subject matter is about his grind, family/people, and telling his fans to follow their dreams no matter what like he did. nikkas listen to a$$ and grouping this nikka with French :stopitslime:

Sean will drop a single or two to get his buzz back and his name back out there and he will sell pretty good.

Son almost went Gold with his last album and had 3 big singles. In that time he dropped a mixtape that was a major step forward, was on two of the biggest songs of last year, and has featured on a bunch of shyt including that Justin Beiber joint.

The amount of exposure he's had since his last album puts him on the plateau to be on the same level as Cole. Let The Coli tell it, if someone hasn't had a hit single in the last 2 months his careers over. Just like Cole was gonna flop right? Cats can't take out their own opinions to look at the real situation.

And I don't even really fukk with Sean like that, I just know how to be objective.
