There were always two-sets of gamers. Now there's a push towards one. They want the gamer who stays abreast of IGN on nearly a semi-daily/weekly basis. They want the gamer who buys a disc game and then buys every new DLC until the next disc version comes out.
Madden is a pop culture phenom at this point and a game bought out of desperation b/c there's no alternative, neither of these qualifiers equates to quality.
2K is good, but its benefited from having no competition for years until recently, and even it's taken steps back.
There were alot of people last gen who had PS3/360's & rarely played them b/c the focus of the gaming industry began to shift to a different customer. And many of those ppl have not bought a PS4/XB1
