Let’s be real, Beyonces albums are overrated and that’s why she doesn’t win AOTY

None of what you posted has anything to do with why she didn't win Grammy AOTY and everything to do with your grievances with Beyonce. Albums that never had hits and weren't commercially successful have won the award i.e. the year Beck won.
True but my point is people act like she should win because her albums are hand down the best. They are great albums but that doesn’t mean other artist aren’t releasing great work as well.

There's iconic albums that never won an album of the year. Some weren't even nominated. Marvin Gaye's What's Going On was never even nominated.
The Grammys post 90s is very different from the Grammys from back then. Way different.

Most Grammy nominated albums are trash breh :russ:
Which is part of my point. Her work isn’t head & shoulders above everyone else’s. So I’m not sure why people think she should automatically win

beyonce was a better album than renaissance

and 4 was her most cohesive and her best album IMO
Beyoncé over Renaissance? I think Beyoncé is not even as good as IASF.

4 was really great.

Whenever I see men critiquing Beyoncé music I just laugh because what the fukk is you nikkas doing listening to Beyoncé to even have critiques?

We used to build houses
and men used to listen to women sing...super old men was listening to billie holliday and lena horne, old men listened to gladys knight and chaka khan, and starting to get old dudes were listening to sade, mariah, mary and toni...the hell is this arbitrary rule men can't listen to female singers?

I don't think her being overrated or lacking hits has anything to do the committee not awarding her AOTY.
The problem is that Beyoncé isn't seen as an "artist" in their eyes because she does not produce or at least write her own music.
Lemonade for example was full with writers upon writers upon writers whether they were through usage of samples or original music.

Albums who have won AOTY in the past have consisted of a small amount of songwriters and producers behind the music.
Beyoncé did deserve to win AOTY for her self-titled album but Beck must have been more deserving in their view since they consider him more of an artist.

When you have a white collar job...you can analyze reports & spreadsheets while simultaneously streaming music

:mjtf:

“We used to build houses” was sarcasm lol

I’m basically saying nikkas went from doing hard labor to arguing over female R&B

It’s really a tongue in cheek joke though. Don’t think too hard about it.

Well, people do this for more than just Beyonce. This happened with Kanye as well. He was nominated for AOTY a couple of times, but never won even though the albums were critically acclaimed and commercially successful more so than the albums that won over him. Same deal with Beyonce except Harry Styles, Adele, and Taylor Swift sold more.

If I had to pick, Beyonce's self titled Beyonce album should've been the album that won the year it was nominated. At the time, it was the highest rated album by a female artist on Metacritic. Her self titled album was the first of the surprise albums and set the trend of the surprise drop. Not only that, but the album dropped on a Friday and the industry changed release dates to Friday because of it. This also popularized visual albums. That album revitalized and redefined Beyonce and her career.
