Yeah, if Nintendo dropped a real console that could play the multi-platform games or whatever, it would be OVER for the other two. What the hell is stopping Nintendo from doing this?

They've never wanted to make a console where they are losing money on day one. The only time that this has happened was the Gamecube and they only lost $10 every unit sold when it dropped.

There is barely enough market share for Playstation/X-Box, Nintendo have carved out their own little kiddie/family niche that has ensured they haven't gone the way of Sega. Lets not forget the Gamecube was a relative flop, and the PS1 also shytted on the N64. They had to re-invent themselves.

the gamecube was before wii though. youd be crazy to think they cant afford the research and development to out do the others on most if not all fronts at this point. they just wont...or havent.
and by their own thing i mean everything, the family/kiddie is just a part of it. outside of putting games on discs (the reason n64 got trounced), nintendo is the one that has consistent moved things forward.

Give it up nintendorks. They struck gold with Wii but honestly havent had success in 20 years(And lost to sony) Third parties arent working with them unless a miracle happens. They can release every Zelda, mario game they want and it still wont matter to anyone outside kids/nostolgia neckbeards. If they dont have third party support they are dead. Nintendo will be like Sega in 10 years wait on it

Nintendo is still needed in the console market. The FPS shyt ain't gonna last forever. The industry is going to crash if everyone does the same thing, kinda like the rap game being flooded with trap rappers that keep flopping.

What FPS shyt? Theres only truly 3 major successful FPS (COD, BF, Halo) and only one drops yearly. The industry is and will do fine with or without nintendo

GameCube was a nice system but then again it was gimmicky. The CD was the size of a tortilla chip and Nintendo 64 was the shyt. The graphics was awesome at the time and add the ability of 4 controllers all at once. Double 007 was the shyt.

Is this a joke?? Have you seen the sales of PS4?? How is a console that's already sold 20.2 million WW becoming a thing of the past?

I mean consoles are on the way out, not in the near future, but a decade or so from now.

The Gamecube is such an underappreciated console.

nikkas talk about it being a kiddy console (granted in some ways it was) but it had classic like this Eternal Darkness, Killer 7 and the second GOAT version of Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil on that shyt looked amazing compared to anything on the market and add to the fact Metriod Prime was shutting on shooters graphically

Only took 55 posts for someone to speak the truth.

If they truly made a system that was on par in every aspect with the X1/PS4, no gimmicks, and easy for 3rd parties to port their stuff over, it would be a wrap. Last time they truly did that was the SNES, and that's widely regarded as the greatest console of all time.Looking back they even revolutionized the industry with the controller for that system (4 buttons + 2 shoulders).

Kids and Adults would flock to that system in a heartbeat.


Not that I want them to though...I respect their innovation that they bring.


Can't believe so many people trashing the gamecube in here...that system had the highest rated 1st party titles out of that generation by far.
