DOA was the end of Jay's influence on young Black culture..

He thought he could dead auto tune just like throwback jerseys... Seven years later and it's as popular as ever.. Instead of dying it's grown and evolved...

throwbacks and auto tune are both back to a degree but when Jay dropped DOA, auto tune was gone for about 3 years. The only reason it didn't totally die was because Kanye used it on 808s heavily around the same time DOA dropped. If Ye didn't use it we wouldn't have seen it resurge so quickly. 808s came out first but that album had very heavy impact. Ye' being a A-List rapper with a platinum album full of autotune tracks took away from the case that it should die entirely.

So the truth is Jay deaded for a minute (artists where scared to use it right after DOA) it but Kanye brought it back to life (granted he recorded 808s before DOA dropped but I bet if Jay dropped first, at that time Kanye would've scrapped all the autotune).

Future is an overrated fukk boy who happened to finesse his popularity into a hustle. None of his albums are cohesively good and in fact most people give him a pass on his shytty music because his popularity far out weighs his talent. Facts....His run is almost over because like most semi talented artist...people are forced to listen to the music after the trending Twitter tweets stop...and they are forced to admit that its forced fed mid level garbage. Hence his current situation.

Pain fell off not because of his lack of talent..but because of his lack of fan support. But he still lowkey had one of the best mixtape releases last year with the iron way...in which he bodided several tracks spitting.
