bro why the fukk do u keep saying Racks came out in 2009? It came out in 2011.

Racks" is a song by American hip hop recording artist YC, originally from his mixtape Got Racks. The song features vocals from fellow rapper Future and produced by Sonny Digital and Student. The song, which serves as his debut single, was released for digital download in the United States on May 20, 2011.[1] The song also peaked on No. 43 within the top fifty in the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed on the charts for 17 weeks.

Racks came out in 2009, breh.
We were all here in this community and if you want.
I can go take a pic of my hard drive where I originally downloaded the record as well.
You are showing you were late on this record.
Maybe in your area, racks did not catch on with popularity till 2011.
Yet racks was a slow burn record and also had admin controversy.
Plus, the draw and writing/talent credit for racks originally was attributed to the wrong artist as well in yc.
This community was on board for racks when it initially was offered.
That is one thing about this community is how early we as a whole were up on this genre.
before it was even pigeonholed as just plain trap rap.
from the pr of future's last of the only draw from the genre originally pr swung the genre into.

You were late if you heard racks for the first time in 2011.
Racks officially is a last quarter 2009 record.
We were bump'n racks with Jackson and franklins, mob, etc from SunTrust and talking about how much of an opus they were.
Plus, I also used to big up I think they on to us a d never been this high in late 2009 last quarter.
You and most of the world were late as well.
As even my one home town in the chi with the popularity of the record.
The reason why racks is so dominant an influence is.
racks, was the last real organic grassroots burn release single draw in rap history.

@#WallyWisdom @big bun Y'all droppin' absolute facts that aren't rooted in emotion or stannery and in doing so, it can't and has yet to be refuted. Props.

It is the first time on this board and community.
no actual Stan base has come with bullshyt to refute the facts.
It is cool to see without all the destruction.
I would have to supply in the past near two decades online.
To a Stan base who would post with no real facts to speak of.

Jay has been taking private jets across the world making power moves with his family and team for over 10 years. He dont give a shyt nggz wearing timbs:russ: Possibly he saw Brows catching fire in the autotune game and wanted to shut him down once he linked with Jimmy, idk:why: he'd let those dudes get under his skin like that tho:snoop: The beat was fire, but the song :patrice:anyway :yeshrug:

Yes Jay was salty at Ron Brownz because he really made his stage name producer name "Ether Boy". But it was also because the market was oversaturated with it. People are saying "He didn't Kill it", Yes it's not dead 100% even Ye is still using it, lol. But there was a DOA effect were we went from EVERY song having Autotune damn near to only a few songs. T-Pain was on EVERY hit song and then on no hit songs after DOA really.

So I think it was a piece of Hip Hop getting watered down and a piece of him being pissed at Ron Brownz using "Ether Boy" name. What's funny is Ron Brownz also produced the "Ether" Prequel, "Last Real N!gga Alive". I honestly don't think Jay was right to indirectly hurt Ron career because of this because he went from having a few hits to being off the radio all together. In the end I'm happy "D.O.A." happen because it was a line in the stand for the Hip Hop Historains to see how autotune was oversaturating the game.

:mjpls: jay was going to record autotune album people forget that

"He actually sparked the idea," Jay-Z told Billboard. "When he heard the beat he said, 'Man, this is just so hard! This has to be against everything - no auto-tune, none of that type of stuff!' He didn't know what I was going to do or where I was going to take it, but it was actually his fault."

The pair had actually recorded several tracks using auto-tune for Jay-Z's album, but after they recorded the single they decided to scrap anything using the production technique.

"In hip-hop, our job is once a trend becomes a gimmick, to get rid of it. We've done that since the beginning of time," explained Jay-Z of his adversion to auto-tune. "Now people are using auto-tune even in [fast food chain] Wendy's commercials, and it's like, 'Oh no! That's has to go!' It's become part of main culture. It's the same thing like when the old lady in Oregon starts saying, 'Bling, bling.' It's like, 'I'm never saying that again'."
