the DOA song did nothing.

I'm sure jay went & blackballed ron browz to get him out the game for good. and then he prolly tampered with t-pain's career as well when t-pain jumped in.

all t-pain had to do was just fallback and do him.

Lmao I would call that pettyness but if a producer is nicknaming himself after a track thats purely disrespecting you, hov somewhat of a reason to be salty

i remember hearing that jay was blackballing ron browz for making the ether track BACK THEN.

that would explain why he was running around saying "ether boy"

DOA was the end of Jay's influence on young Black culture..

He thought he could dead auto tune just like throwback jerseys... Seven years later and it's as popular as ever.. Instead of dying it's grown and evolved...

jay didn't really dead throwback jerseys either. hes just smart.

the jersey craze had already become a ridiculously over-inflated bubble. jay knew what time it was, so he attached his name to its downfall. the most you can really credit him for, is speeding up the process. he prolly had a jersey on when he recorded that line.

same thing with autotune & timberland boots. autotune looked like a trend that was on the verge of dying. and nike boots were outshining timberlands at the time.

he definitely paused the wave that was going on 07-09 though... wasn't really til 2011 that the atlanta rap autotune started to blow

How when racks dropped in 2009, breh.

Racks is what every new record by every new artist is a direct bite of.

Art Barr

racks was definitely the blueprint and that's the what i based my statement on... wiki and discogs and my ears have it as 2011 doe. maybe it started bubblin in the underground in 2009. jay ain't completely dead it (hell drake was even using it on the BP3 weedplate) but as far as having a HIT with autotune, there was definitely a lull after DOA

And running with jim jones. jayz a blackballing fakkit, how you bitter about dude that made the beat just cause you got bodied

I would say at the height of General Makaveli's reign in 1996 he would've retaliated swiftly and imposed sanctions to cut off supplies to those who consort with his enemies. He would fund the foundation of a coup to lead a resistance resulting in the offending leader to be ousted and exiled

and 50 Cent would've probably done the same thing

He didnt realize it.

He tried to make Timbs uncool in 09 and failed.

He tried to make expensive art cool and failed. Even caught Feelings when Cole and Drake said it was wack and hasn't rapped about art since
