Jay-Z and Tupac should never be mentioned in the same sentence unless its....

"You remember when Tupac dissed Jay-Z on 7 Day Theory?"

or

"Jay-Z ruined a classic Tupac record on Blueprint 2"

or

"Jay-Z is the antithesis of Tupac inside and outside of the studio"

Jay and Pac were different MC's with different styles. Pac was more conscious and had more emotion, Jay was probably more slick and had more wordplay/punchlines, Jay had emotional shyt too but Pac was more vocally passionate. To me it's Pac by a very long way but rate Jay Z highly too. Pac was a dope lyricist, a lot of people get lyrical complexity confused with lyrical efficiency, Pac made some incredible worldwide loved songs Dear Mama, Keep Ya Head Up, Changes, and others are huge all over he world and loved forever not just a "hot song". It's so hard to compare MC's with such different styles though cause by and large it comes down to preference.

me
In my list I got 2 Pac, KRS-One, K-Rino and Nas above Jay. I rate Jay very highly, just those artists higher, and the latter 3 having been creeping further away from Jay recently.

just looked him up & heard 'Grand Deception' & 'Three Kings'. Must say, it's a breath of fresh air. His discography is hefty :win:

put me on to some of his piff breh :lavell:

Can't do K-Rino justice with a few links, but there's a few joints.

Jay, Nas, Pac, Big, Face, 3 Stacks, Cube and Rakim are the rappers that could have that #1 spot and I would not give two fukks.

All of them are too great, the only problem is certain dikkriding stans specially Pac and Nas stans that love hating the "competition" of their favorite rappers.
Hiphop is the only genre with c00n ass stans that hate on the greatest of the genre. The thought of Stevie Wonder stans posting thousands of posts hating on Marvin Gaye :dead:. Al Green stans celebrating the day that Otis Redding took an L and on .

He's the best because he has so many classics and he's still as relevant as ever at 44 than he ever was. You gotta at least give him that, he's only a yr younger than big daddy Kane.
