What?
Its catchy and has a simple catchy piano riff melody.
Song also has many memorable lines
"Remember syrup sammiches and gramma 'llowances'
"So fukking tired of the photoshop"
You get the picture.
I don't know why people act like "Humble" is any worse than a lot of songs that become hits. It's like people are in here trying to analyze and dissect it to figure out how a song like that could ever be popular and.........it's not that hard. It's catchy with mainstream appeal and easy to remember.
We also have no idea what direction Kendrick is going in with this album. There probably won't be a "Humble"-sounding track on it. And considering the fact that Kendrick takes a long time with his projects (once an album comes out, he's already working on the next one), combined with the pandemic probably forcing him to scrap whatever he had before, it doesn't make sense to speculate.
Whenever Kendrick drops, it will be the hottest album in the country. Guaranteed multi-platinum. Doesn't matter what it sounds like, people will lose their shyt over it because it's Kendrick and his name means something.
