#1 billboard record is a gift and a curse. You get the #1 but everyone is expecting it the next time otherwise they going to say you fell off. The same shyt is happening to roddy rich and drake.

Roddy's last project had The Box, unless he comes with a #1 they going to say he fell of.

Drake last two projects have had #1's. Hotline Bling, One Dance, God's plan. Why do you think drake has so many leaks floating around on the internet, he's trying to find the next #1 record before he drops.

Kendrick Lamar is shook...Dude is going to go 5 years inbetween albums. :francis:

them kenny stans finna flame you and act like their favorite rapper dont care about sales but its real.

thats why his camp still make comparisons to this day

He dropped like 5 hits on the black panther album. Lol.
He has no problems making hits.
This. He doesn’t need a #1 radio song to do 500k first week. He’s good. Yes I’m sure the camp wants success but having number one hits is rare unless you’re Drake. Kendrick isn’t Drake so I’m not expecting another Humble. Will he have a top ten hit? Sure it’s inevitable with streaming.

Dunno what the album will sound like but after DAMN there’s no way he drops something that isn’t commercial again. Maybe not as commercial but clearly he’s aiming for Kanye and Jay territory. Another arena tour. TPAB is his best album but TPAB doesn’t get you a massive arena tour like DAMN. Sure it was an important building block but from here on out he’s aiming for filling those seats.

It’s the streaming era his next single will probably go number one based off of hype alone

This is why we need to applaud drake more because of his consistency

Nikka he cares

He completely changed his direction to more pop after his awaited sophomore album failed to produce any big singles and the album poorly resonated with black folks. The DAMN album was literally shoved down our throats.

I was trying to find this tweet for so long. This is when the illusion of Kendrick being more than a rapper started to fade for me

He's suffering from Andre 3000 and Lauryn Hill disease, the public have built them up to such heights they are scared to drop in fear of disappointing

As modest as people say that he is he may also believe his own hype too much. Dude acting like he does pop music like Michael or Whitney and can go 5 to 7 years without an album

The constant praising of him really got his ego inflated. I can imagine how much it must have gotten Top Dawg to be the same way also. Teasing albums for years like they pop stars. Corny shyt

this is rap you gotta release consistently until you been in the game at least I would say 15 years

Explain it to me like I'm an idiot because I don't get it. What makes "Humble" so much worse than the average mainstream rap hit?
shyts trash corny sounds like a parody rap record he sounds out of his element shyt is just garbage an extremely annoying grating lazy song.

No “G.O.A.T.” contender has dropped a single that bad.

What are these hit mainstream records this year that are worse?

Funny enough I don't even remember what Humble sounds like...does that make it forgettable or is that just me?

Wouldn't know about this year, but compared to every other rap hit in 2017, "Humble" is no worse. Your problem is that Kendrick made it, which I understand because you apparently hold him to a higher standard.

If a lesser rapper made this, it would be no problem. :manny:
