The image portrayed by rappers is what we are known for worldwide.

A rapper says nikka , its OK to say the n word because rappers say it.

It categorizes us black men as aggressive, violent, ignorant etc.

I wish we could go back to jazz, soul, old school reggae instead of this filth.

true...especially when you decided to look at rap from an outsider looking.

Outsiders dont get rap.

But if you have a true outsiders perspective...rappers have no respect for each other "on wax", nor do they have respect for black people...

After randomly coming across some race jokes, I could see how blacks wanted to take the sting out of the n-word, the jokes were there is a WM and then there is a n-word, smh.

But rapper really do destroy each other...Now fans see it as music, but someone could listen to rap or even comedians and see that they dont hold themselves to a higher standard.

rap is a joke because white people who's not into rap only know rap for lil wayne, drake, rick ross, because that's what they here on white radio, mtv, vh1 and white owned B.E.T., and main stream tv.. so they make assumptions like majority of black men are like those rappers they see or hear about.

then when they see a black man who isn't like that they like be like :what: i thought u was blah blah blah..

but fuk rap music... at least i have peter tosh and barrington levy to listen to

It's just music tbh

music has always held merit and meaning in the black community

From African tribal songs to soulful gospel hymns, to artists standing up in the civil rights era, to Malcolm x relationship with dike Ellington to martin Luther king Jr relationship with harry belafonte, to in Nazi Germany the battle and love between Germans and their love of the black blues and i t being banned

White People will think whatever they want about you regardless of music, movies, etc.

We should stop giving people excuses for being Racist ignorant.

Whether we're saggin' and selling drugs or saving lives in emergency rooms or suit and tied up in courtrooms, the story remains:

WE AIN'T shyt.

(This goes for the racist whites and all those in general who chalk black behavior up to rap only, i'm not prejudice against other races, just aware that the feeling isn't always mutual)
