Well I think its moreso the rap that actually gets promoted.

A dude could make a dope rap album full of uplifting songs but the label won't let him put it out unil he has a "Club Banger" or a "Hood Anthem"

Then of course when Up and coming rappers see that and whats being payed on the radio they feel like they have to mimic that in order to have success. Its a fukked up cycle...

Pretty much. If you go the NaS route, you're not gonna get the labels backing so these new artist gotta go the ignorant route in order to have a fighting chance even if they don't want to.

the art and culture has been dead. The trash they play on the radio has been getting worse and worse as well.

Exactly, I hate when people use this excuse

Cacs still gon hate you no matter what as long as your skin is black

I can't blame rap because like yall said they've been hating on us way before any form of music was made.
Also there is plenty of positive rap to balance out the other side. And in this age of technology,we aren't limited to just songs on the radio. People are gonna listen to the music they find appealing.
Also it's parents responsibility to raise their kids. If a 2chainz album is their child's father figure, the parents failed.

According to rap, you're just hating because you don't have a billie, you've never been to the South of France, never caught a body and I believe your bytch may or may not want to leave with me.

May I ask how many kilos you've moved on your best day? I shall scoff at the total.

Just speaking purely on the musical side of things...........rap today has no musical merit at all. It's the only form of music I can think of where you can become a star and have absolutely no talent. I'd go as far to say the majority of the artists on the radio now are talentless. You can listen to it all day and not hear a song that had artistic value. It's a bunch of rambling about nothing; just purely disposable noise.

When did it become the norm to not have a point to a song? These people are just showing up to the studio to get drunk and high, and whatever comes out of their mouth at that point is put on wax.

The image portrayed by rappers is what we are known for worldwide.

A rapper says nikka , its OK to say the n word because rappers say it.

It categorizes us black men as aggressive, violent, ignorant etc.

I wish we could go back to jazz, soul, old school reggae instead of this filth.
Jazz was all about (illegal) interracial sex, smoking weed, and drinking (illegal) alcohol. This was the music that started the prohibition of marijuana and the drug war.

Soul was all about doing heroin and philandering. Stereotypes reinforced by this music played some role in the development of our family court laws.

Old school reggae was all about Black militancy and smoking weed. A combination that was contemptible to the dominant culture of the times resulting in pockets of race-related warfare across the western hemisphere.

Don't blame Rap for racism. It's existed before rap.

Pretty much, it's all about who you know and what producers and DJs you're cool with.

I never listened to Rakim, Cube, Pac, Nas etc and thought I could be a rapper, but when I hear French Montana on the radio I feel like there's not much to it.

Current rap is indefensible.

Grown men peddling rhymes about material BS and drugs to youngsters.

Exactly, I hate when people use this excuse

Not everything has to do with cacs bro. Just the image of black men portrayed by these buffoons (e.g Trinidad James, Lil Wayne, French Montana) is very harmful.
