It's only the first 5 or so games. He was too overhyped due to LaVar people take him too seriously. He is going to be a good player but he's a rookie PG who just turned 20, he has to develop. He is going to have to get a lot stronger, he's 6'6 and weights 190 pounds, this is a grown man's league, once that happens he'll be able to use his length to post-up, he seems to have a little turnaround in his game but he doesn't use it because he's too weak right now. Once he puts on weight he'll be a better finisher through contact and more explosive. Right now he is timid, he is afraid of contact.
Also, he is just missing his jumper, a lot of in-and-outs and back rim shots. It would be nice if he played with another guard or a point forward so he can run off screens and C&S from the corners, once he gets his confidence on his jumper he'll be good in the high P&R because of his quick release, step back, and range. This year it should be about learning the P&R/pro offense and the system Walton is running, working on his body and all aspects of his game, and gaining confidence. He shows some encouraging signs, he's a good rebounding guard, the court vision is there, defensively he did a good job on Wall currently the metrics rate him as a + defender, he's a competitor. That Phoenix game showed us what he can be.
10 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists, 3 of 10 shooting
5 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 of 12 shooting
19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 7 of 11 shooting
9 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 of 6 shooting
5 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 of 11 shooting
Those are stat-lines to Jason Kidd's first 5 games, and he was 2 years older than Lonzo at this point.

point out it's only 6 games when I mention he's only shooting 31%. I'm not even saying the kid sucks. He's a 19 year old rookie PG who's been overwhelmed by the speed of the pro game and his coach handing him the keys of the offense before he's earned it. He could still be good a year from now.

, he was able to make some of us
