Let's Be Real: These Protests Are Not the Answer

I am by no means dismissing the anger and genuine pain of the Black people who are marching and lying down in the streets to protest the very real campaign of genocide that our criminal justice system has sanctioned against Black men and women in this country. I share their outrage and feelings of powerlessness. But at the end of the day, when all is said and done and the speeches have been made and everyone returns home, nothing will change. We will be here months later feeling the same emotions when the next innocent Black man or woman is gunned down and their murderer is cleared of any guilt. The genocide will continue with uninterrupted frequency and the system that mandates this violence against our people will remain unaffected.

We are now in 2014 protesting what has been the response from white America since the end of slavery. Under legal subterfuge, slavery has continued, defended under the rule of laws that were meant to "integrate" us and recognize our God given right to self-determination. Mike Brown existed in 1870, 1880, 1890, 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930, 1940, 1950, 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, and 2010. But their deaths are now highlighted by the pronounced racial divisions that have erupted into view in the wake of Obama's presidency.

Liberals and Blacks who've bought into the myth of progress talk about reform. Reform? what are we reforming? Stop killing our men and women. Stop denying us the right to live. all this other shyt? Cameras? Community outreach?

It's time to rethink this and develop a new strategy that stops asking for acceptance. I don't want your acceptance. I want you to leave me the fukk alone.

But to the brothers and sisters out there expressing their hurt.

The march is for all the wrong reasons. None of the "victims" were "innocent". It's sad they died, it was unneccesary but lets not pretend they didn't compound the situation. That's the biggest problem in the black community, zero accountability.

Marching for what? Who are these marches supposed to awaken? Enough Black people are already well aware of the threat breathing down their collective neck. What are the marches meant to achieve? It's more of the same failed attempts at convincing an evil majority to reject its ways and treat us as human beings ( fukk being treated as equal ). What is the next step?

I know TOO DAMN MANY financially illiterate negroes who want to p*ssy foot when it comes to putting money and time in places that matter. You're damn right some of these people are only marching cause that's all they're willing to do. We all know what's it going to take to REALLY change things, but only some of are willing to segregate ourselves and make a Chinatown/Little Italy type community and bolster black economics.

The good news is that a lot of the younger generation thinks different from our parents and grandparents. The two sistas, Cyd and Umaara who headed the NYC marches have a good head on their shoulders. They actually MADE A LIST OF DEMANDS!!!!!! Something we should have BEEN done. Every other groups put up a list of demands to head their movements which is why they get shyt done. This is why Obama hasn't done shyt for us also. Because we never came to him with a list of demands. Mexicans and Gays let that negro Obama know they had a list of demands and that he better meet them if he wants their vote.

And the protest Saturday were successful in slapping down the white folks who have somewhat "Co-Opted" the protest for the past few weeks. Cyd and Umaara made sure to wear shirts that had the black power fist on it. To symbolize that this shyt is about US and US only and we all know that fist puts the fear into whites. I'm glad the young generation is bringing that fist back unlike the buck dancing old generation who put it down because it's "Too Radical" and "Scares Massa." They also put a list up to show white people what their place is:

So the energy is back in our corner so the speak with Saturday's protest.

Protests raise awareness. That's an army of the populace fighting against the times and law of the land. Protesters are the people actively ready for a change. A die-in is saying, in the words of Brother Malcolm, "if your not willing to die for freedom, put the word out of your vocabulary."

The real question is what's next. How do we go from A to B in undoing hundreds of years of injustice.

Protests are a loud weapon in a Silent War fought with Silent Weapons.
