I grew up in the 90s and there were def Sega households and SNES households.

I had a Sega but i would go play Street fighter 2 at my homie home next door bc he has SNES and he would play Mortal Kombat at my crib

"Sega nerd" was an insult at my middle school....used for dorky type kids who.couldnt play any sports and only play video games

-Nah, we always had SNES over Sega. The franchise games were better. Graphics & gameplay was better. Despite having no blood SNES MK was better than Sega. The only thing that held them back was being too soft & family friendly.

- I never really played sports games so I can't really speak on that part.

the sega genesis was basically a trash system. like, i wouldn't even give that to a homeless shelter. never had a genesis in my house and only casual gamers had that whack ass shyt. sonic the hedgehog was absolute garbage and it was always the most unfun point of my life when i played that game. you notice it's always the casual dudes talkin bout 'snes had no games' and 'every real n****" had a genesis when nothing could be further from the truth. they only had like 3 good games: Nba Live, Vectorman, and i can't even remember the third one, but zero games that i recall that were unique to that system. i won't hate on someone for havin the genesis, but the genesis is basically like being with a 2 dollar whore each night when i have a actual wife with a career. these are all facts so please don't try and debate me cause you will be exposed.

SNES was the easy victor.

It had MUCH better colors, better sound chip, significantly more memory, but the real thing that set it apart from the Genesis was the mode-7 effects...

From 89-93 every nikka you new had a sega Genesis, you would rarely find a nikka with a SNES, untill about 94, and that was cause cacs was buying snes like crazy. I never owned no damn snes, and really didn't play on till like 93.

Fact of the matter is that sega sega was the better console, but Nintendo had a legacy of gaming that was undeniable, and nikkas started jumping on the Snes bandwagon with cacs

I had a Sega Genesis. It was cheaper and the most available and that's all my parents cared about. I just wanted one of them so whichever was left, I was happy with. I was only 5.
