Eastcoast also disrespected the West on an industry level:

Not to deviate too much, but the point I'm making is that east coast artists were always given love in Cali..This was never the case in NY..DJs from Mr Magic to Chuck Chillout to Red Alert to Funkmaster Flex would consistently turn their back on west coast artists and not be responsible to the hip hop community and present new material to help open people's minds.. Oh yeah every so often a Flex would play a Snoop Dog or an Ice Cube cut and I recall Red giving some love to Young MC but there was never any real consistency. And it was disproportionate to what hip hop djs out west were doing. In fact west coast hip hop jocks like Power 106's Tha Baka Boyz, KMEL/ KKBT's Sway & Tech of The Wake Up Show were often accused of being too 'east coast' in their music selections. Many west coast acts were discovering for themselves there was huge imbalance or trade deficit. East coast hip hop culture would be exported and exposed to the west. West Coast hip hop culture would be exported back east and never exposed. This imbalance has been made more apparent when you consider that east coast jocks like Funkmaster Flex were given hip hop shows on Cali radio stations like Power 106 while that can't be said about Tha Baka Boys or The Wake Up Show.-Davey D's Corner: The Eastcoast Started This War(written in 1996)

Not true at all. There was PLENTY of back and fourth musical and physical beef between the Eastcoast and Westcoast before Pac was even a solo act. All the incidents I listed happened between 88' and 94'. Pac wasn't even in War Mode when guys like Tim Dogg got pressed in California(Pac saved him, in Tim Doggs own words). Treach got pressed by some Crips(again, Pac saved him in Treach's own words). Ice Cube almost got chased out of the Apollo by some Harlem Goons and Rap group Mob Style. Hammer got booed in New York. People act as if the two coast were cordial, and Pac came in and killed the vibe. Not true at all. The eastcoast had a MAJOR hand in the animosity that was aimed towards them. Here's a good article written by Davey D which basically surmises how the eastcoast kicked off this war. Mind you David D is originally from the Bronx(although he moved to the Bay in his 20's). But he drops some GEMS about Eastcoast insecurity in the late-80's through mid-90's. I think this article is from 95':

some of this is true & some is over exaggerated

but to the pac shyt - i gotta agree with @3rdWorld
pac tried to turn this shyt into WWIII

the most insane thing he attempted to do was have lady of rage do a lil kim diss song
word on the street was he approach her to do the diss track -she refused & told him she was pretty cool with lil kim
pac got mad, barked on her but rage aint no lil girl so she didnt back down. they went havk n forth then pac bounce went to suge & told him rage aint a team player and he dont wanna do anything with her no more -no songs -no shoots -no press -nothing. thereafter when the 2 crossed paths, pac never ever spoke to her or even looked at her EVER again !

:snoop: da nikka had some serious issues

:mjlol: nikka you got caught slipping. First of all, they got into an argument cuz Pac said she was the "weak link" in DR for not jumping in the beef. Lady of Rage stood up for herself and Pac gave her respect for that.

And the last time she met with Pac is when Pac said if she could be on the "one nation" album with boot camp and he promised her that he wasn't beefing with no east coast nikkas
:mjlol:
damn mane you nikkas are straight up liars.

The fukk you mean "word on the streets" :mjlol:. Lady of Rage said it herself that the last time she saw Pac was when he asked her to be on the one nation album. Their squabble wasn't even serious since they laughed it off. Lady of Rage let it know that no one can "bully" her on DR, and she stood up for herself.

I caught you flat out lying nikka, now kick rocks.

:mjlol: You said "thereafter when the 2 crossed paths, pac never ever spoke to her or even looked at her EVER again !" That's a lie. And you're gassing up their whole situation. They had a verbal confrontation which led to disagreement and then they squashed it. You Biggie stans like to gas up everything relating to Pac so it could bolster your made up "Pac was the crazy bully" characterization. :mjlol: shyt is so laughable.

E-40 is a legend breh. He never had that nationwide fame like Biggie and Pac, but he's been consistently putting out music for his core audience for decades now. Hip hop, on the whole, would be in a better position if more artists stuck to their roots like 40 did.

my bad bro. But.somebody gotta keep these West Coast nikkas in check

Pac had issues, demons, insecurities, an ego, and all of that. He was faaaar, from a saint. But make no mistake, this whole East vs West conflict didn't get kicked off just due to Pac. Pac had eastcoast artist ON death row. Wu-Tang was cool with Pac. The seeds of a Hip-Hop Civil War were planted long before Pac released hit em' up. The Eastcoast, and specifically NYC, were arrogant when it came to Hip Hop. Understandably and not understandably. Understandably because Hip Hop was their baby. Not understandably because you had rappers on the east who were rapping about the samethings Westcoast rappers were rapping about, but acted like they were some moral guardians. To Biggie, Nas, Wu, and Jay-Z's credit, all those golden age guys seemed to take a liking to the Westcoast artist. It seems it was a pre-92 Eastcoast rappers vs The Westcoast. It seems by 1992 The Westside had taken over to a point that Eascoast rappers that came out post-92 FINALLY started accepting Westcoast artist with open arms because dissing, and hating was futile at that point. But the East still sent shots, figuratively(Death Row getting booed at the Source Awards) and Literally(DPG Trailer getting shot up in NYC). Lets be honest, even BEFORE Pac released Hit Em' Up(when he was in jail) the Eastcoast wasn't really being all that cordial. Chino XL, Wendy Williams, Flex, the list goes on. Why were they so disrespectful? Especially considering how respectful Westcoast rappers have were and how much they loved and respected New York.

I pacifically said Word on the streetz i didnt say it was fact again I said it was Word on the streetz if u was a street nikka or from da street u would understand that means 'rumor'

but just as your typical pac stan you avoid the main topic and nitpick the least irrelevant part of the story

The fact is your man asked the lady of rage to do a diss song at lil kim and foxy brown which is even more ridiculous because foxy wasnt even affiliate with biggie... proved pac had some serious mental problems

that's like me and you having beef
and you ask your female coworker to have words with one of my female coworker SMH is fukking retarded

Biggie visited Pac at the hospital, his father said the said thing. Dont ague with him.

Are you fukking nikkas retarded? What part about Pac saying Biggie didn't see him in the hospital yall don't fukking hear?Pac said that himselff,Pac also said Biggie didn't contact him at all after he was shot, yall nikkas are retarded.Pacs father obviously has some agenda and Pac didn't know him like that. He tried to steal money from Tupac's estate.Doesn't matter what any of these family members say, they are just trying to play into hip hop bullshyt to simmer down the beef.

:russ:

at 1st i really really really thought u just was a delusional stan
BUT with that post....
your just plain ole retarded

:snoop:

just loved the way u avoided my question/comment

just because pac didnt get a chance to see said visitor dosnt mean said visitor never or didnt visit him

Your questions are irrelvant. It was a nice try , but you contradicted yourself so many times.

My life is good. I am Black and an American citizen. Now hush up you got no place in hip hop, cac

LOL ain't no real nikka caring about hip hop.IReal nikkas may like rap but nobody care about Hip Hop so its it became pop.And most nikkas across the country never did care about it unless you lived in NYC or something..Hip Hop is dead and been went left.

Here's a word from your's truly.

Yall nikkas goinna learn.
@1:30

You're absolutely retarded. Tim dogg an east cost nikka dissed the west coast first, and it wasnt harmless. In fact when tim dogg came to the wst coast they tried to kill hm and Pac held him down, this is straight from tim dogg's mouth. Does that sound harmless? Moron and Pac and Bigs beef was not west and east it was blood vs crips . nikkas have access to the internet and still make up shyt like its nothing

You sound like a suburban for real.

Biggie and Pacs beef was not fukking bloods and crips.Pac was mad Biggie sad left him out to dry when he went down and didn't do shyt,so he knew Big wanted to see him fall in reality.

And Bad Boy got help from SSCC to back them up at shows, Bad Boy wasn't Crips. That's why when SSCC was at the Soul Train after party they weren't riding for Bad Boy like that nor gave a fukk if Big died.
Although many Bad Boy artists have shown to be wanna be crips, this is long after the Bad Boy and Deathrow beef.

Elaborate. I didn't know SSCC showed up at the Soul Train Awards. Was this the night Biggie died?

:pachaha:

I feel what you saying
but again I think is very exaggerated it was only a small handful of people pre-92 that try to diss the West Coast
Chino and Wendy Williams is not ideal examples to use I mean let's be real Chino was an upcoming artist trying to get shine a name in da industry and as far as Wendy goes that was her job just to make controversy rumors & basically shyt on everybody now funk master flex is the right example, personally I think he said & played the songs that he did was basically to please to his audience and that goes for most DJs in the West Midwest in the South

at the end of the day anytime somebody create something and it pans out to the masses is going to get criticize by the location the original location that it was created
I remember being a little kid in the Bronx way way back in the days and the first time a new tape came out with some dues from Queens or some dudes from Brooklyn rapping the older heads use this shyt on them because it was somebody doing their creation from a different location

and usually after time that of a new location doing whatever -earns the respect of the of the originators
