All of this text to showcase that you have no idea what you are talking about.
HES A BRONSEXUAL.

ALL HE REALLY WANTED TO SAY
WAS "IF BRON WAS THE 4TH
LEADING SCORER IN THE WCF
YALL WOULD BE KILLING HIM"

HE CREATED THIS WHOLE
THREAD OFF A MARK "KLUTCH SPORTS" JACKSON TALKING POINT
AND PRETENDED IT WAS ORIGINAL.

1) Is there another max player in the league that could be the 4th leading scorer on his own team in the conference finals and still be immune to any criticism?

Jimmy led his team in scoring this season and he's second in the playoffs (basically tied for first actually)

Jimmy is a max guy but he isn't considered to be a superstar

There aren't a lot of teams structured like the heat though so this wouldn't be possible for most teams

I’m confused why this thread was upped by some of you guys on some “see, you were wrong” shyt when last night was another perfect illustration of what I’m talking about...

it’s a close game at the half and if we win the 2nd half, we’re going to the Finals. This would be the time for your leader and “best player” to step up. Jimmy starts the 2nd half going like 0-7. We stay in the game with our shooters like Iggy, Herro and Duncan hitting shots. Jimmy goes scoreless in the 3rd quarter. 4th quarter starts and we’re down, and Bam takes over. Jimmy’s first bucket of the entire 2nd half comes with 5:55 left in the 4th quarter and it’s on a play where Bam drew the double and makes a great pass to Jimmy who’s sitting under the basket wide open.

That’s it. He didn’t score again until garbage time late in the 4th when we were already up double digits. For the whole second half of a close game to get to the Finals.

It’s not even so much an indictment of Jimmy, I don’t think anyone expects him to play like a top 5 player where he’s going to dominate most games. I think it’s more so that he’s likable all of a sudden and the team is winning, so naturally it’s tough to criticize someone when the team is exceeding expectations. I imagine it’ll change if we lose in the Finals and he doesn’t play well, but it’s just weird he can skate by with these weak ass performances without even occasionally taking over games and is teflon.

Proved me wrong I remember the Heat signing him and thinking they need to be pairing him with someone cuz he’s not a #1 option and for all we know he might be the king of the mountain

As a Heat fan, in a vacuum, I think Jimmy Butler is the perfect fit for the Heat culture. BUT with that being said, he’s a max player and naturally the expectations that come with such are different. Ive been adamant all year that this Heat team is good enough to win it all except Jimmy Butler isn’t quite good enough on the offensive end to be the go-to guy when the role players that the Heat have counted on all year aren’t playing well. So, for sake of discussion, my questions are simply the following:

1) Is there another max player in the league that could be the 4th leading scorer on his own team in the conference finals and still be immune to any criticism?

2) Is there another max player and unquestioned leader of his squad in the league that feels like he’s just “one of the guys”? I don’t feel like Jimmy is significantly better than the other main contributors on the Heat on the offensive end. It makes Spo’s job infinitely harder because Jimmy; and even Bam (he’s still young and developing so I give him a pass), aren’t the type of “best players on the team” that will overwhelm you offensively so it’s a lot of just feeding the hot hand. But when that hot hand can he one of 6 guys because your best player(s) aren’t the type of player you can give the ball to and he can consistently get you buckets in one-on-one, it makes it that much harder when the role players aren’t playing well.
