Good coach. Saw some ESPN stat where his teams are 32-0 when leading at halftime which is crazy. Anyways besides that how come no one talks about how he inherited the talent on Rams. Goff,Gurley. And obviously Donald. His grandfather had connections which got him many key jobs before the Rams. Not denying his offensive mind :whoa: etc. How come no one talks about priviledge and talent he inherited?. Let's not forget he was outcoached in Super Bowl real bad. I remember when Tomlin was hired there was a fuss over his 1 year as coordinator. McVay has been helped all these years.

i've seen mention of his dad quite a bit over the years

did he get a leg-up on most, including non-connected whites? sure
has he proven he belongs as an NFL hc? i'd say thats clearly yes

what i like about him is his willingness to do different things as the game dictates it. that trait is not in every successful coaches bag (Doug Pederson)

Talent on the Rams? :gucci:

Donald was really the only good thing about the Rams prior to Mcvay taking over

Goff was being considered a bust after how AWFUL his rookie season was :dahell:

Gurley had a nice rookie season but his sophomore season was bad and people were ready to write him off

The Rams were 4-12 the season before he took over and had never even been .500 during the seasons Jeff Fisher coached

In only his second season Mcvay took the Rams to the Superbowl and yeah he did get out coached....but by the greatest coach of all time :dead:

If you want to talk about nepotism regarding Mcvay's hiring that's fine but all your other points are hogwash :why:

:wtf: Goff was #1 pick I'm not saying he is great player. With Jeff Fisher as his coach obviously Goff wouldn't have succeeded. Rookie seasons are rookie season not every QB lights it up. He also inherited one of most underrated lineman in Whitworth.Wade Phillips practically assistant coach helped Donald was coaching other side of ball. Neopotism aside McVay gets alot of credit. I give him props for drafting Cooper Kupp but he has benefited from Ramsey Trade,Donald being there,Wade Phillips. Yes he is an innovator but he isn't no Sean Payton,Andy Reid. As for Super Bowl, doesn't matter his high flying offense put up 3 points .The defense only gave up 13 points which proved my point how valuable Phillips was.

I give him props on making halftime adjustments obviously his record speaks volumes. He's a good coach but not great yet!

He got the job based off the hype of what he did with RGIII & Kurt Cousins. Maybe he got a look cause of his dad but it's not like he stepped on the team as a coordinator. He still worked his way up

I thought the hire was bullshyt and founded nepotism but he proved himself.

Goff is trash though. I give McVay props for getting stuff out of Goff.

I agree Wade really helped McVay and McVay was waaaack in the Super Bowl.

I think he's a good coach but not yet great.

He was 30 hired as coach. He worked his way up props but crazy how fast his rise was. I know memory is short but Tomlin was catching flack back when he was hired for only having 1 year as Coordinator experience.

McVay is a great coach that's also a product of nepotism. Better than a shytty coach that's also a product of nepotism I suppose..
This.

Rams had offensively one of the greatest statistical year to year turnarounds in league history going from Fishers final season to McVays first. He's a really good coach, getting taken to school by Belichick in a SB doesn't change that.
