I'm not really into art like that but I always fukked with Basquiat :manny:

His shyt always gave me a nostalgic feel. But maybe it's because his shyt lowkey looked like it was drawn by a kid. Dope regardless though.
dude was an drug addict that doodles
Picasso was genius. Never admitted this cause i hate hating on peoples praise but warhol and basquiat are beyonce overrated.

completely right about pollock

the thing about him was he brought masculinity in his art at a time where america was re-establishing gender roles. this is a main reason why people were on his dikk. he is praised for his shift of focus to the action of painting, which is bullshyt imo. not because the idea is not valid, but because he wasn't the first and didn't do it well enough.

warhol's art is trash, as well as his philosophy. he basically wanted everything to be mediocre and replicable. he wanted everyone to like everything, and no one to be better or more praised than anyone else. influenced by the rise of commodification in his period, but nothing profound in his self-proclaimed talentless shyt. famous cause he was weird looking, gay, and gave weird interviews

nothing really bad to say about basquiat though... and definitely not picasso.

I once knew I guy who has a venture capitalist and in his spare time/hobby he would promoted new artist. He was on board on one of the major art galleries in NYC I think. Anyway he loved promoting new up and coming Black artist. According to what he told me is it a lot of politics. He showed me some of the the new talent.:banderas:The sculptures were divine.

what is this great and prolific art you love and why? im just asking a simple question. what you're saying right now can be applied to anything or anyone. i dont want to watch a doc, i know about basquiat. i just want to know why you think his work is genius.
