I beat him 3 different times in three different chalices (depth 5). You have to remember to dogde into his attacks (from the left) rather than away.... You'll always end up behind him, but you can only punish with one to two hits.Had it down halfway. Couldnt duplicate.

It's much faster to attack him straight on than use the poison knife. It takes more skill and concentration to dodge and punish the aborrent beast than most other bosses.

I think everyone can see the differences in styles breh, that doesnt mean we cant compare the quality of both. Thats like saying you cant compare counter strike to call of duty because they dont play the same
The Abhorrent Beast was actually easier solo for me than with summons. I'm assuming bosses take off more vitality when you summon because the two times I did summons I got one shotted to death but when I fought him solo I survived the same attack and beat him first attempt solo. When he gets down to his last 1/3 of health thats when it gets really hard. I had to start using oil and molotov cocktails

He is one of the more fair fights in my opinion. I am working on str build tonight, so I went ahead and fought him in a depth 5 chalice. Tried three times and beat him on third attempt. I uploaded the fights
On my second attempt, I performed a lot better, but my controller had a low battery warning which broke my concentration.
On my third attept, I used a lot of viles and traded too many hits.
I am only level 121, and I don't even have max vitality. However, the poison knife won't work on the depth 5 because the boss arena is too small.
Keep trykng! It's always easier to stick-n-move the way the game was designed to play rather then come up of game exploits. Either way works though.
Back to believing in metacritic huh?It's a step back in every way while at the same time it's actually the highest rated "souls" game. Something not adding up.

Bloodborne is easily one of the better Souls games. The style alone trumps most games this gen and last, and the weapons are muthafukin crack. Yeah there isn't a lot but Jesus Christ they are way more fun to use especially with the dlc weapons. W3 is dope but gtfoh with all this deep combat shyt, stop lying. @blackslash

I gotta disagree the art style was too dark and repetitive. None of the areas really stood out cause they all were so similar. There was no feelings of wonder like the first time walking into Anor Londo or Blightown. The bosses were not very memorable for the same reason. They were too similar, most of the bosses were just huge ugly beasts that you just swing at their ankles and dodge their attacks.
The weapons were cool, but once I got the kirkhammer I NEVER used another weapon and never had a reason to.
This game was serverely lacking in variety in all aspects
