Ppl stayed home to WATCH TV on Friday nights. :damn: Yeah there was no DVR back then, but VCR's existed and ppl used them all the time to record.

But the shows were so good at the time that people didnt want to miss them. Kids and adults.

Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, Full House, Step by Step(Al :shaq:) , Dinosaurs, Hangin with Mr Cooper, Boy Meets World........and the real OG's remember, Just the Ten of Us.

And even Saturday nights did very well with stuff like Golden Girls, Empty Nest, 227, Amen, Twin Peaks.

They say never say never, but this sort of thing will NEVER happen again.
The only people who stayed home were kids and parents. No one else was watching. As soon as I became a teen and hanging out I stopped watching.

Saturday night programming was always trash, I remember being a kid in the 90s and the most entertaining programming on Saturdays was COPS and America most wanted :shaq2:

Outside of sports, Saturday and Sunday morning/afternoon programming was always trash. Friday nights was piff :manny:

Hell, Friday night programming is still decent today, Blue Bloods is not that bad of a show, same goes for CSI NY before CBS gave it the :camby: treatment last year.

TGIF & SNICK on back to back nights :banderas:

Friday and Saturday nights were already planned for you. No need to wonder "What am I going to do?" If you were lucky, you'd have your friends over for a video game session that would bleed into watching Snick or TGIF with pizza

Old people watched that shyt too, that's the demo they wanted though. Also back then 15 and 16 year olds still stayed in the house. Sounds strange now but times were much different then.

Wooow I remember the On Our Own show. On a side note, Jurnee Smollet is :wow: now. And she's married smh but damn she is bad.

Another show that came on TGIF in 96 and didn't last long at all was Aliens in the Family. Since I was 10 when it came on, I can't vouch for how dope it was or wasn't but I remember loving it as a 10 year old.
