Only decent songs are 30 hours, NMPILA and like one other. I just listened for the first time this morning and when people were saying it was all over the place they weren't lying. I always thought if the songs were good, I could get over a lack of cohesiveness, but this is an extreme case. It really just is mismatched. This album had potential and it really was a learning experience for me in some ways. I guess for years I've taken for granted most of the albums I've heard over the years have a theme even if it's not blatant. There is a vibe and there is a uniform that you can't really describe sonically. TLOP has none of that. IndividuAlly some of the tracks shine but one of the reasons I used to love Ye's work is because the way his albums flowed and moved as you went from track to track. TLOP was like constant pattern interrupt, which took away from the listening experience by at least 30%. I didn't even listen to it in one setting. Reminds me of the same experience I had when I first heard Yeezus.
At least we got the 30 hours instrumental out of this. I've had this beat on repeat for 2 hours
With that being said, this album is something I see growing on me a little more over time. It's not a throwaway. There's been rumors saying this isn't the official version. Maybe Ye is watching and perfecting it.
