Am I supposed to read and reply to each post in this thread to make my point? I'm only focusing on the main premise of this thread, which is about the Cavs "terrible" drafting. Some posters acting like they knew all along how each prospect would pan out, which I doubt.
Valanciunas was a 20 year old Euro 220lb big man (need I say more?)
Jamal Crawford had no real position and off-court problems
Amare was a highschool kid who relied on his athletic abilities and strength to score on smaller high school kids
While, Mihm was first team all-american and UT all-time leader in blocks, and 2nd in scoring and rebounds. Wagner was the second coming of AI only a couple of inches taller.
Scouting isn't as easy as some people here make it out to be.
That's every 5 star/ Blue Chip prospect in high school, though.
Have you seen Amare's high school footage? Big 6'10 dude with cat like quickness, the first step of a shooting guard, and monster hops?
There was a few scouts who thought he was the best player in the draft that year.
Not only did Danny Ainge say he would take Amare #1 overall, he said he thought he was going to redefine the PF position. After his first 3 years in the league, that shyt was looking like a real possibility. It's just too bad his knees started failing him
