Barkley was great (Top 5 PF all-time) but I contend that the reason why he had that crazy MVP Season in 92/93 is because he was actually in shape due to playing for the Dream Team that previous summer. He was the only one that didn't make the playoffs that year prior (not including Laettner) and he came into that next season ready to go...

The only gripe I have with this assessment, is MJ gave all these dudes a window when he left for 2 years. 1 totally gone, 2nd playoffs got taken out on baseball legs.
Barkley who just had a finals appearance failed to take advantage and hakeem rose and took opportunity.
Not to mention, even if the knicks beat the bulls in 93, up 2-0 let's say they pull that series off, imo and it's up for debate, imo phoenix doesn't beat that NY knicks team in 93. Especially not with oakley sitting across from barkley for a entire series.
