Let's take a minute and discuss Byron Saxton on commentary...

He was selling the fact that all of his colleagues just got murdered, brehs. How is this so hard to understand? If you want to see Byron as a regular commentator you guys should watch Smackdown where he sits every week as a heel announcer.

Why did they send him out there by himself in the 1st place? Was Lawler in the divas locker room sniffing their shoes or something? Saxton is okay sending out there alone was dumb and came off awkward. He does fine when he has someone to play off of.

While Byron did do a bad job, why did Jerry come out so late? Were they really hoping Byron would single handedly commentate the rest of the night?

Jerry seemed irritated that he had to be out there too.

Really, I woulda liked to see dude excel in this situation, cause it woulda been a good opportunity to show how good he was (and maybe get Cole's job eventually)... but he dropped the ball on that. He sounded like he was talkin' to somebody on the phone.

Would have liked to see him make a better go of it, but I'm not going to throw ol boy under the bus because he couldn't do the job that three people regularly do, by himself.

Only time I remember Raw in recent history having one commentator was when Lawler had his heart attack. Cole has been at the desk for 13 years at that point. He could adjust.

I can only imagine the difference between having Triple H and :cokeboycism:in your ear too.

The thing that is most to me is that - this being a kayfabe attack, they had every chance to plan and put a contingency team in place and they didn't think to.

I agree, that he needed King out there. No-one does solo announcing in the E for the large part of a show unless it's an emergency.

shyt - if they wanted to pop the live crowd, they should have sent out the whole NXT announce team out. They do a good job on their own show plus, they were alredy acknowledging NXT on the show with Neville and The Lucha Dragons.

I'll say again that he was selling, similar to how nobody bothered to flip that table back. You could say that he didn't find the right balance between selling the situation while still calling the matches, and I'd agree on that, but people have to stop acting like Byron can't handle commentary on RAW.
