Damn....memories. For those that were old enough to remember all the 90's era classic releases....

November 9, 1993

Midnight Mauraders, Doggystyle, 36 Chambers....ALL DROPPED ON THIS DAY :wtf: shyt was unreal that day. Those never left my rotation until the next summer. :eat:

didn't KRS-one's RETURN OF THE BOOM BAP dropped that same day too? :noah:

the problem with beats rhymes and life LP was the fact that q-tip tried to change the entire chemistry that originally made up ATCQ. it's not intentionally, just so many circumstances happened to where q-tip felt compelled to make those changes.

1st his entire record collection which helped created the sound and music of ATCQ was completely destroyed because of a fire at his home. this forced him to seek out j. dilla in help him on the production front. j. dilla as we ALL know is a legendary producer, but in terms of CHEMISTRY, the production, the distinct sound of ATCQ changes dramatically.

then phife moved to ATL, which q-tip felt salty about it and brought in consequence just because. there were rumors even back THEN about the divisiveness going on between phife and q-tip..and all of that sorta was felt once the album dropped.

Nah... Boom Bap came out that October. Doggystyle didn't drop on the 9th either... it came out on the 23rd. I def. remember that, cause it was the week of Thanksgiving.

Far as the bit about QTip's fire... that didn't happen during BRL, that happened in '98. The production on BRL just perplexes me, cause everything else with The Ummah name on it around that time was dope, EXCEPT for most of BRL. Keith Murray got better shyt ("The Rhyme" remix), Busta got better shyt on The Coming album, but then here comes ATCQ album and it's drab as fukk...:dwillhuh:

De La is too much of an "acquired taste" when compared to Tribe.

Tribe shyt is just easy to listen to and vibe with.
