The Love Movement wasn't better than Beats Rhymes & Life
too many heads hated on the latter for not having "the tribe sound", or "not being Midnight Marauders or Low End Theory" and Consequence getting shine. Whole album was fire IMO, I can play the whole thing through without skipping
I will never get the heads that thought that album and De La's Stakes is High were not good releases.

so after being put off the Native Tongues by trying to listen to De La Soul Is Dead last year I decided to try listening to ATCQ's albums a couple days ago ((yes I need a prehistoric late pass))
they're dope as hell
I just caught a bunch of references.. everything from Kanye's "award tour with common my man" to the Can-I-Bus chorus to Industry rule #4080 etc
Always a good time to catch up on some hip hop from that era, plenty more where that came from if ya looking to dust off crates fam.

Tribe is my favorite group of all time. I stan for them 100%. I remember the day my dad handed me the Low End Theory and told me to listen to it and the rest was history. My dream is for Good Music to do a tour and have Kanye bring out Jarobi Shaheed and Phife with Tip out there and have them do a set in NYC. I need to see these guys perform once before I die. Andat being put off by NT by listening to De La. Lol you shouldve never continued with them, and went to Jungle and Brand Nubian.
my fav group growing up as well. I am glad I got to see them perform live back in 96 at rock the vote. busta was there too. u know the good busta back when he had dreads and wasn't fat.

tribe fans, including me were mad at the time regarding beats rhymes and life cuz some no named dude called consequence who was suddenly on damn near every song. we didn't know who dude was or what the deal is. now we know that he's tip's cuz, but back then, it was like
speaking of stakes is high. between that album and the grind date, those are the only two de la albums I have ever bumped consistently.

you should have listened to their first album first, because "dead" was basically a full length response to all the backlash they got for being different.
@ you. The only people that like Low End Theory more are people that hate perfect chemistry, Phife Dawg getting more shine, or delusional dudes that don't know any better
stupid post. the appeal of low end theory is tribe completely shifting to a more hardcore sound, moving away from that happy go lucky shyt - especially phife. MM had no such shift, just a continuation of low end theory

midnight maurauders is my fav ATCQ album as well, but I got no problem with heads that prefer low end theory. there can be arguments for both.
