Dirk had better teams though. KG's number two was Sam Cassell, although highly effective
Dirk took a starting 5 of Devin Harris, Adrian Griffin, Josh Howard, himself, and Eric Dampier to the NBA Finals. Terry and :flabbynsick: Stackhouse off the bench.

Garnett was never bout that life. He padded his stats and was a great defensive anchor and individual player. You couldn't build a decade of 50 win teams around him tho.

Dirk and Duncan you could. And they did.

I guess people are just going to overlook KG's defense like it ain't part of the game. :manny:
KGs defense can be made up by having a guy like Ben Wallace or Tyson Chandler or Serge Ibaka or any other rim protector.

KG couldn't create the offense and court-spacing that teams so desperately need in 4th quarter of playoffs the way Duncan and Dirk could.

That type of effect on a team is invaluable. Every GM would trade KG's 2 blocks and defensive intensity if they could have Dirk's ridiculous floor spacing and confusion it caused opposing teams on the other end of the floor. It's the reason why Dirk + role players was waaaaaaaaay more effective for over a decade than KG + role players ever was.

KG transformed Boston's entire defense led them to a title and would have gone back to back if his knee held up. :manny:
And Tyson Chandler transformed Dallas' entire defense led them to a title.

See how easy it is to get a defensive anchor to win a title? Now tell me how many number 1 options can go to down the stretch of playoff games and will repeatedly get you buckets.

Sure as shyt ain't KG :scusthov:

Give me Dirk + defensive player over KG + offensive player any day of the week. KG needed Pierce, Allen, and Rondo to even sniff the Finals. Says a lot about him that he needed THAT much assistance to get to that point.

Rondo wasn't a key player in the '08 run. He wasn't an all-star caliber PG at that point. Allen wasn't quite the same player either. He would have flashes but he was far from consistent. It was KG, Pierce and guys like Powe, Posey, PJ Brown etc.

In Dirk's one title he had a tremendous team around him. He's also the same guy whose team won 67 games and then got bounced in the first round. This can go both ways :manny:

Nah, it really only goes one way.

Dirk with role players and not a single All-Star got to 2 NBA Finals in a much, much tougher conference.

KG with role players was completely irrelevant. Never did shyt. People like you copping pleas for him while a guy like Dirk was able to actually win multiple playoff series with his best player being a 6th man. KG didn't do shyt until he hopped on a team with 2 guys who used to be franchise players.

Ray Allen was still able to drop 30 points some nights in Boston. Let's not act like he was washed. And Pierce was still a better player than Dirk ever had on his 2 Finals runs.

At the end of the day, Dirk did more with less. KG needed great players around him to do what Dirk did with only role players. This is facts.

I don't really care what KG did with Boston, because it's real easy when you're no the focal point of the other team night in, night out. He could lay back and watch Pierce or Allen cook. Dirk NEVER had that luxury. Dirk carried his team post-Nash. Both of his Finals appearances came post-Nash.

KG never carried his teams to shyt. Ever. Dirk put guys like JJ Barea on. KG needed Pierce and Allen to put him on.

KG also the same guy who got DPOY accolades and praise from guys like you but consistently got absolutely sonned in the 1st round year after year after year after year. But you stay bringing up ONE season from Dirk. You ignore all of KG's shortcomings (there's a LOT), but emphasize Dirk's shortcomings. No objectivity here, just total delusion and stannery.
