Averaging 28 mins a game :wow:

We are witnessing history

Dirk> Garnett it's not even close anymore

There's older players doing it, last time I checked the reigning Super Bowl MVP and Leading MVP candidate this season is a year older than Dirk.

Dirk is a great player, but I can't believe how much he's overrated these days. Better than KG in his prime? KG in his prime did everything while Dirk never played any defense.
Kawhi is a better all around player than Durant. He better?

Conley is probably better all around than Curry. He better?

Bruce Bowen played lock down D and could hit 3s. All Melo does is score. Bowen is better by your logic, correct?

Prime Shawn Marion did more things than Harden. He better?

At the end of the day, the most valuable type of NBA player is the guy who can get you buckets down the the stretch of close, big games consistently. When the other team knows you're getting the ball.

We saw Jordan and Kobe and Shaq and Duncan and Dirk and LeBron and Wade and Pierce and Durant and Curry do that.

We never saw Garnett do that. You dudes stay overrating his defense. His defense couldn't win games in the 4th.

It hurts you to see a soft euro cac come in and overtake your childhood memories of KG. You guys always bring up defense as the reason why he's better than an offensive player.

Funny how defense is never mentioned when it comes to Durant, Melo, Harden, etc. We all know their offense trumps a lot of other players' all around games. But when it comes to Dirk, you want it the other way.

Curry scores more than Lebron, is he better? KG did what Lebron did, he anchored the offense and defense for those teams. I realize you're just a Dirkstan (Dirkastan? :JJ:smile: but making lousy arguments with false equivalence gets you nowhere.
As I've told you before in a prior thread, KG gave you 80 percent of Dirk's offense, with 2-3 times the defense. Prime KG was far more valuable than Dirk and was the closest competitor to Timmy for best PF.

Prime KG was never able to win big games and series in the 4th.

And LeBron comparison don't work here. The reason he's historically great is because he's an all around player who ALSO is a number 1 option down the stretch of big games.

Again, KG was never that. He needed Pierce to be that guy in their Finals run.

That's the most valuable type of player in ball. You brought up defense and all-around skillset and now I see you ducking all my comparisons.

Call me a Dirk stan when you caping for a guy who could never close games consistently. He was a force, and a defensive anchor. But he wasn't no true number 1 option you could go to.

With KG, you still needed a number 1 option down the stretch. Dirk already gave you that.

I've seen Dirk body stacked Thunder teams, stacked Spurs teams, stacked Heat teams down the stretch of games and ice series.

When did KG ever do anything like that?

Oh, my bad. He played good defense and got a couple sick blocks in the 3rd quarter.

I saw KG hit clutch shots against the warriors and Kings consistently. But let's leave aside this false argument because it is a false argument.

Let me explain basketball to you.

1. At any given time during actual play, there are five players on the court for each team. These five players are expected to play both offense and defense.

2. There are 4 quarters in basketball. There's not just a "fourth" quarter.

3. You can win games with offense, defense, or, most preferably, a combination of both.

So, KG couldn't win without Paul Pierce to be the "closer"? I could say Dirk couldn't win without Tyson Chandler as a defensive anchor. IN fact, I do say this. Why couldn't Dirk, a 7 footer, be a more effective defender? HE really was no more active on defense than his BFF Steve Nash.

In the end, maybe KG and Dirk should have played together :JJ:

I saw Dirk get bodied by an 8th seed, get shut down by Stephen fukkING JACKSON, and receive an MVP award while he was out fishing.

When did KG ever do anything like that?

Dirkastans :JJ: Dirk is getting overrated because of his late career greatness. But let's be honest, if he had to work as hard as KG on both ends, he'd be worn out too.

I'll never forget my Warriors going on a never ending layup drill against the Mavs in 2007. If only the Mavs had a 7 footer that played defense :JJ:

Again, 2007 is all you have.

A bad playoff series for Dirk was an annual occurance for KG :russ:

You KG stans stay overlooking ALL of KGs shortcomings, but emphasize Dirk's few.

I can acknowledge Dirk came up short in 06 vs Heat and 07 vs Warriors. Problem is you delusional KG stans can't acknowledge his litany of shortcomings.

I won't cop pleas for Dirk playing soft. But you'll cop pleas for a decade of KG getting sonned.

Dude took a gigantic franchise player contract and could only make 1 measly WCF. Crippled his team.

I saw KG get sonned by Dirk, Duncan, and Shaq everytime he went up against them. They consistently dropped 30+ on his ass.

Tell me more about KGs defense :mjlol:

Dirk averaged over 30 and 10 when they played each other in 2004.

Tell me more about the game of basketball :mjlol:
