Wacky, that girl in your avatar has to rank as the most gruesome female I've come across on The Coli. Almost man-like. Really bad stuff.

the only thing remotely manly about that pic is the fact that shes playing basketball.

and that's not neccessarily "manly" either.

:wtf: Wacky you don't think De La has at least ONE classic? People's Instinctive..? i'm pretty sure i remember you haveing a thing against Kast so i'll let that one go but surely there's one album post 2003 that you can agree is a classic

I don't have a thing against outkast. people keep saying this. its starting to feel like a deflection mechanism people use in order to brush off any type of criticism.

meh, I shouldn't have said that about de la soul seeing that I prolly heard less than half of their albums(they have so many). but nah, none of the stuff I heard strike me as a classic. that's including their so-called classic debut. theyre a chore.

I hated tribe when they 1st came out. its to the point that i slept on their 2nd & 3rd joints for years, and those are CLASSICS. but that 1st album is trash-truck juice.

nah. no classic albums after 2003. NONE.
classic mixtapes tho? yes plenty.

Nope. Diary of a mad band is when they got official. That album was landmark in the r&b climate. Precursor to the timbo shyt. That was a move away from all the dopey r&b cliches into a super charged, hyper sexual almost death row sounding vibe.

Plus the Redman feature.

that's not a classic either.

too much filler.

that shyt was so basic
hip hop production went from being an organic mix of sounds to cheesy strings loops & plastic drums

Ive always said this man.. the early 50/ eminem sound appealed to kids more then anyone

Are you referring to 2001 the year or "2001" the Dre album and albums in that era influenced by it? Because Just Blaze and The Neptunes were damn near untouchable around that time.

I hate Eminem production so we might actually be on the same page.

Bruh, that girl's shoulders are wider than Nina Hartley vagina. She has Dwayne Johnson deltoids.

Im not saying all hip hop production was watered down.. just the Dre school

that was damn near the defining sound of the era though.. definitely the most ubiquitous

In Rap, solely? I'd say The Neptunes would hold that title if we're talking Rap + RnB.

The stuff Dre did for Em was bulky and corny. When he produced for black people his shyt was always tough.

Now that you mention it I can't think of a single good Dre beat that was given to Em. That's not exactly Dre's fault though. I think Eminem picks those beats because most of his production is like that.

I'm sure you're right. Em is the other conducter in the room a la 2pac....he's just white trash and it comes thru in the music.

ya just rap... The Neptunes sound dominated the charts... idk about hip hop in general. they kind of just did their thing and got paid.

the one exception being Hell Hath No Fury :salute:

The ultimate forced southern trio:
Trap Muzik
TM101
Yeah fukkin right kid... TM101 started a lot of trends and niccas still sittin in prison until this very day over that album. Trap Muzik is a regional classic if that's possible.

yall gassing up dre something heavy.

that 2001 album aint no dagone classic.

and there were a number of producers that were CLEARLY hotter than dr dre during that entire time period. so i don't know where yall get off calling him the definitive producer or saying that he had the definitive sound. that's poppy-cock.

Bruh, that girl's shoulders are wider than Nina Hartley vagina. She has Dwayne Johnson deltoids.

shes an athlete.

what do you expect? boney arms?
