These two are fine. There are perfectly availiable shotguns for this. What people want is the AR 15's @Type Username Here was using while he was in the service. No reason for that.

i think society has gone too long to for it to be completely rid of guns
but just think about the times when these laws were being written
it pretty much was ruthless and lawlessness
if you want to hunt use another weapon
guns were made to hunt i can kind of understand but still
there are wayyyy more guns on the streets than actual gamesmen and hunters.

think about the BS we go through to get a license
then think about how easy it is to get a gun legally and illegally

to me its too easy to get a gun
and even more easier to justify using a gun

Not sure where u from but over here we need guns to protect ourselves homes and families.

im from the eastside of detroit
too many gun crimes
dependeing on your demographics
alot of the problems are economic
not stemming from violence, emotional problems, or even drugs but money

its like a cycle. but most crimes stem from economic struggles

i feel you tho as far as protecting your home
but the only way to justify having that gun is because you assume other people have guns

its a cycle imo

But I do need a gun for my protection.

It's absolutely relevant.

Our government is increasingly become more and more invasive. Are you denying that?

No you don't. You're not Clint Eastwood, if I point a gun at you you're dead. You're not gonna get to your gun and shoot me before I shoot you. If I don't have a gun you can protect yourself in many other ways. If you have time to get your gun and shoot me you had time to do plenty of other things

Exactly. There are tazers, rubber bullets, and plenty of other non lethal options people can use to protect themselves. The "I need guns for protection" argument is old and not relevant to today's America.

If you want to say you need your gun for hunting/sport/hobby fine, but they need to be regulated much more aggressively.

Wat's a rubber bullet to a man with an illegal gun. Wat happens if u miss fire ur taser...Imo protection for ur home should be something that u can drop someone with a single shot. Take no chances in protecting ur home and fam

You have never fired a weapon before in your life, correct?

You have never been in a firefighter, correct?

You have never been trained in how to use a weapon, correct?

So stop assuming.

Yea, but the problem isn't the guns.

I already have documented countries that have higher rates of gun ownership than America yet less gun crime.

The guns are not the problem it's the AMERICAN culture that is the problem. The 2nd problem we have is how easily guns can be purchased.

Did the shooter purchased his guns legally ?
I thinks that's the problem if he did.

We already have strict laws in America for illegal possession. In Florida it's automatically 10 years, even if the weapon is unloaded.

10-20-Life - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here is the info on Switzerland.

BBC News | EUROPE | Switzerland and the gun

Floridas laws don't matter if I can just drive to Alabama and purchase a weapon. The culture in Switzerland is very different from America, you can't look to them as an example to prove you're point they are an exception to the norm not the norm

That's my point Meach.

It isn't the abundance of weapons around that's the issue.

If merely just having weapons, and having easy access to weapons was the central reason for these acts, than Switzerland should have a multitude of more gun violence occur. They don't.

Like I said if a criminal breaks into your house and points a gun at you, you're dead. If you have time to retrieve, load a gun, and stalk the the crimin you had time to do plenty of other stuff to protect your family.
