"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"

-- Thomas Jefferson, 1 Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

The guy that actually wrote the Constitution would disagree with your statement.

"all men are created equal"

-Thomas Jefferson

The guy who owned slaves and let his children live as slaves.

It is my opinion, but the fantasy is thinking your gun makes you safe.

I have a Louiville slugger and fully confident in my ability to protect my family with it.

Ur baseball bat could easily be neutralized with a large blade or jus a big grizzly n***a. I pray u never have to protect ur fam in such situations cuz I fear the worst.

If I have a loaded weapon by my bedside and I hear my house being broken into, I'm pretty sure the first thing I'm going to do is grab my loaded firearm and protect myself and my family at all and any costs. Not everyone lives in suburbia with no crime.

If you can get the drop on someone with a gun, you can get the drop on them with a taser, rubber bullets, bat, etc. the gun makes you no safer.

If you don't get the drop on them, your gun or any other weapon is pointless

I'm not sure you know exactly how a taser works. U have a better chance defending ur home with a gun that misfires that can potentially get off another shot than a taser that misfires.

U gotta have some seriously poor awareness to shoot a 3rd party in ur home during a breakin.

the point is "what if you miss" is an issue with any weapon. and with a gun, the results of missing could be disastrous

I'd like to know how many of you cats have had to deal with someone breaking into your home while you're there. 'home invasion' isn't very fruitful unless you keep a lot of cash (and/or drugs) in your crib

Can you provide me with the studies and evidence?

Number of guns per capita by country - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If the U.S. had a mandatory military service for 2 years then the people would be adequately trained for firearms usage and storage... however this is not the case.

The high gun ownership is spilling onto the streets and into the illegal market and causing bloodshed in the inner city. It is a genocide against people. Even in my city where there is tough gun control... the guns from Detroit and Buffalo somehow find a way onto our streets. You cannot convince me that NO gun control will produce the same outcomes in terms of mortality as SOME or STRICT gun control. That is not a hypothesis you can convince anyone here of.

I think you have only one scenario running in your head and dismissing the millions of different ones that can actually happen....

I think you live with a white picket fence. I live in a nice town. However the town next to mine is ghetto as fukk. I've had my house broken into. That shyt traumatized my mom. I said never again. Sorry if you've never had a gun pointed at your head. Sorry if you've never had a break in. I have and I know what it takes to protect myself and my family.

I am a big grizzly nikka, and I wish a nikka would break into my house with a knife. The one thing you are proving is that you are afraid and your gun makes you less afraid. I ain't scared of shyt, and I know I can protect myself, I've done it befor and ill do it again.

How do you plan on taking away all the guns that are already on the street?

We already have STRICT gun laws for illegal possession.

Do you plan on having a "turn in your gun to the government" day when these laws go into effect?

I'll let the GOAT tell you:

Live on the run, police paying me to give in my gun
Trick my Wisdom, with the system that imprisoned my son

If I miss with a taser, he will have plenty of time to attack me. If i hit him with rubber bullets and take an eye out, he will sue me in civil court. If I put a bullet in his head and take him off of this earth then he can do me no harm anymore. Simple.

Blacks were seen as property not human beings nice try tho.:beli:

It was clear Jefferson was speaking to white Anglo Saxon protestants.

so you're supporting gun ownership because you're afraid of the government?

edit: and my point was that thomas jefferson wrote a bunch of stuff to get people riled up because he didn't want to pay taxes to the british government.

by that logic, his family could sue you for wrongful death

Had someone break in my home in south Trenton Nj stole laptops playstation and cash while me and my family was there. Guess what i didnt have my gun at the time. Best believe the story would have went different. Ive had cars stolen and been held up at gunpoint with a hunting rifle right next to Mcdonalds.

Bottomline....Guns are a necessity for the protection of human beings despite the craziness that goes on over guns
