ofcourse i understand your point of protecting your fam
im saying there are alternatives to protecting your fam
as well as you gotta realize alot of dudes are out here on an ego trip when they buy a gun.

most people's reasoning when buyin a gun has nothing to do with protecting their family and home
its too easy to get a gun in places like Detroit and New Jersey.
think about this shyt happened in the suburbs of CT

most guns crimes in NJ and Detroit stem from economical reasons
drug dealers buy guns not to hurt people. to protect someone takin they money.

somebody brake in yo house witta gun to take money or possesions that cost money.doesnt make them a violent person neccessarily

its all in they mind. they think they need a gun when really tey dont
people buy guns because in they mind its a way of protection when its not

not sayin you personally

but how many dudes out here sayin the same exact thing you sayin?
but dont even have a fam or home to protect?
or these people are crazy out here so i gotta protect myself

imo if you a guy who handle his own a gun wont make or break you

but we gotta watch out for the cowards who can just walk in and buy crazy guns n the name of "protecting" theyselves

but never been in any danger in they life.

this is a big problem, Guns DO cater to ego's but that's cuz they are such a powerful force.

Think about your first time getting a cap gun, or playing First person shooters and mowing down whole crowds how excited you were, how strong you felt lol.

I remember when I got my first weapons id in the Army and got my rifle out the weapons locker for the first time.

It was my first time holding an assault rifle and I was like :takedat:

but this is where the training part comes in, our Drills would emphasize gun safety like you can't imagine, holding weapons down range at all times, weapon on safe at all times etc. etc. I seen a drill kick a soldier in the head on the weapons range :damn: cuz he turned towards the drill sgt. to ask a question and didn't realize his weapon was pointed in his general direction

Basically i think that the consensus on here is stricter accountability of weapons and more intensive better quality training.

What I'm saying is if a situation arises where I can do something to protect myself, I would be very thankful that I had a gun nearby to do just that, protect myself.

I understand that and I agree whole heartily, I was just :whoa: at some of scenarios being given because some of them are on some Call of Duty level of :duck: and quite frankly failed at assessing risk. I have a gun and real talk my gun is last resort.

i agreed that the laws need adjustment,

not sure if guns are in Philly walmarts but you can get them from teenagers on the corner.

so whats the solution for you then.

Nationwide Ban on guns on a Federal and State level?

also guns can be manufactured by private persons if they know what they're doing, banning guns would produce more homemade guns and weapons as well.

I've said multiple times that I don't advocate an outright ban. But guns and more importantly bullets should be regulated much more aggressively. In my opinion the goal should be to reduce the overall amount of guns in the country, and secondly to better monitor the guns and gun users.

Why do you need the gun to do that though? If the guy wasn't going to shoot you, he won't (he came to steal, not to kill). If he feels threatened by a gun, NOW he might shoot. You both start shooting, stray bullet goes through your daughter who woke up because of all the noise. Why run the risk? Is your laptop that valuable?

I get what you're saying and agree, pulling out your gun escalates the situation exponentially in ANY situation. And no I ain't shooting for a laptop.

Bottom line, you can trust crime statistics all you like but you never know who's gonna kill you in what starts out as a home invasion. The thought of going out pleading for life.... :shaq2:

Give yourself a fighting chance by having a gun option. Again, doesn't mean you have to use it. If there's time, go get the kids and everyone into one room AND have a gun. You don't wanna be that one family that got hit with senseless crime.

I can respect this, don't necessarily agree that it would justify having a gun but can understand the reasoning.

Let's hope we don't have to find out though who was right :whew:
