If someone wants to kill you they will. If they want to kill your family they will. Probably your family first in front of you. Are you always with your family? A lot of people have guns and they still end up laying in a pool of piss.

You're not going to save your family. You're not going to save yourself.

Deal with it.

They stop producing and selling guns and ammunition half the battle is over.
The rest can be done with economic incentives and fines.

You're being selfish

The majority of criminals who break into ur house arent doing so to kill you and your family....but they carry a gun in case they run into resistance(you).

You're not going to save your family. You're not going to save yourself.

Deal with it.
:rudy:

I own multiple guns(including some antique rifles passed down by uncles from the 1940's) and know how to shoot them :smugbiden:, my dad used to be a cop and I grew up alot in the country...I grew up all my life shooting bb guns and rifles, shotguns, so I'll take my chances. Thanks. :youngsabo:

However, that doesnt mean I'm not for gun control. Guns makes crimes easier to commit and more rampant...but take guns away from lawful citizens and they're still gonna exist(at least for a while) in the hands of criminals. What deterrent is there if I'm a criminal and I KNOW for a FACT that someone in this big fancy house I wanna rob has ZERO protection other than a baseball bat? :leostare: I'm gonna rob it...hell even if I don't have a gun I'm still gonna go in b/c I now know the people living there dont have a gun either....

BUT when ur speaking about this issue, you can really only speak for yourself and what reasons you TRULY have a gun for. And you can only speak for your own sanity of controlling yourself.

Its like I said, I could get in my car tomorrow and decide to run over & kill 15 innocent people in the mall parking lot. Literally ANYBODY could do that....everyone has a car. Should we take away cars from everyone too?

That's why guns should be taken out of the equation.

Everything else you said doesn't matter

Everything I said matters b/c it's my take on it, and I have guns.

Don't ignore real scenarios just to fit ur agenda.

In the past people used them for protection against bears, other wild animals. Over time, the main use for protection became against unlawful humans.
Over more time they've unfortunately become used alot when not necessary and used inappropriately like today.

Yeah a world without guns would be great, but a world without guns existed before with knives, spears, and dozens of other deadly weapons.

It's really a natural progression. Okay you come at me with a knife, I'm gonna get a bigger, sharper knife....

Those are all hypotheticals

If there aren't guns there are no gun deaths.

You've got guns? I've got them too who the fukk cares

Sorry America but the stats aren't in our favor. The more guns, the more gun violence period. The numbers don't lie, where there are no guns, gun deaths are very low. We have the most gun violence in the world. Something has to change. I'm not saying no more guns, but there needs to be better restrictions in place. Yes again I don't just want police or the government has guns but everyone who gets a gun should go through more to get it than they do in most of the U.S.

The more guns, the more violence?

See that country with 34 shooting deaths? They have more weapons per capita than we do. Guns are easier to buy there too. That invalidates your entire argument.

Than you compare as country with 300 million people to others. Post the per capita stats.

None of that matters. We have by far the most guns and the most gun violence. The numbers don't lie.

Both lies. In bulk yes, but not per capita.

Statistics are usually determined by comparing sample sizes.

If Town A has 100 people and there are 4 gun related deaths and Town B has 10 people and 3 gun related deaths there is key contrast there.

It seems the other side of the argument relies on misinterpreting data and not actually providing sources.

Its all emotional pleas.

I'm still waiting on my friend Broke Waves comprehensive studies he mentioned earlier.

Homicides > Gun Violence statistics - countries compared - NationMaster

We are number 8 and its laughable the countries that we are close to. Thailand, Columbia, Mexico. I wouldn't say those are good places to compare with America.

There are no wars or uprisings here yet, our guns stats reflect the stats of counties that do have those types of things going on. The only thing we have is more guns, the most guns actually.

So you lied in your statements above?

Thanks.

Now show me the rates of gun ownership per capita so we can begin.

Nobody lied. My statement is true. We have the most guns and the most gun violence. You asked for the per capita stats and they actualy paint a more grim picture. We are the only large wealthy nation in the top 20, and somehow you still argue that guns aren't a problem.
