Thats all that needs to be said.

Wiggins is also playing in a system that is not conducive to his skills. Kansas plays through the post primarily. Almost every Kansas possession involves dumping the ball into the post and then when Embiid or Perry Ellis get doubled, they kick it out to the perimeter then the guards rotate the ball to the open shooter. Unless Wiggins is scoring in transition, most of his field goals come out of this action. I have actually been pleasantly surprised by his catch and shoot abilities. He has a nice quick compact release. Kansas run almost zero pick and roll action for him. That won't happen in the league.

Once he gets in the league, he'll have better spacing, more pick and rolls, and he'll get more calls driving to the basket. I can't tell you how many times I watch him go to the hoop (and eventhough his finishing is poor right now), he gets hacked and doesn't get the call. In the NBA, he'll live at the free throw (where he is a good shooter). His quickness, first step, and explosiveness at the rim are remarkable, his handle is adequate when given space, his finishing is bad right now but that can improve once he gains more strength to absorb contact.

As has already been said, everything he can do is stuff you can't teach and everything he can't do can be easily taught. I see him having a rookie year like D-Rose. People will be astonished the first few months next year how much better he plays in the NBA than college.

Everything about him screams SUPERSTAR at the next level. And I haven't even talked about his defense which is already all-defense 1st team caliber. IMO the only guys I could even consider drafting over him are Embiid and Exum. And even with those guys on the board, there are many teams for which if I was a GM, I'd pick him first.

Harrison Barnes as a freshman (18 years old): 15.7 ppg 5.8 rpg 1.4 apg .7 spg .4 bpg on 42% shooting in 29.4 mpg (was hyped as defensive shutdown guy)

Andrew Wiggins (18-19 years old): 16.3 ppg 5.9 rpg 1.6 apg 1.0 spg .9 bpg on 44% shooting in 32.4 mpg (is being hyped as a defensive shut down guy :laff:)

As Freshmen:

Wiggins: 55% true shooting %

Barnes: 52% true shooting %

Wiggins: 1 outta every 3.2 shots is a 3 pointer

Barnes: 1 outta every 2.5 shots is a 3 pointer

Wiggins 3 point%: 36%

Barnes 3 point%: 34%

What the numbers say here is, considering these two guys are elite 6'8 physical specimens, that they still prefer to sit on the perimeter and shoot jumpers. Numbers don't lie.

Wiggins may have a marginally higher overall ceiling than Barnes but Barnes has him beat in frame and low post potential. Both those aspects translate at the next level.

His numbers are similar to DeMar & Paul George's freshmen years too :manny:

Like someone else pointed out, his first step is elite and his handle can be worked on considering George, Demar and KD all had very average handles coming into the league. The difference between Barnes and Wiggins is the first step, Wiggins first step is elite but he doesn't yet know how to put it to use.

Yeah......you don't watch KU games if you think Wiggins is the team's clear #1 option.

They don't realize the offense in Bill's system always goes through the post first. Hence why Bill expected Ellis to lead the team in scoring. Let the narratives continue though.
