I get that GR's are having people camp out now but people were camping out back then for Quickstrikes and Hyperstrikes. Hell when I got into sneakers it was ONLY cacs camping out.
I never saw black kids rocking SB's
I only really saw them rocking them shytty ass Fusion J's
This blame should go on Nike though.
They realized the popularity of what they had, upped the price, downgraded the quality and kept churning out shyt after shyt because anybody would buy them.

Why would you think that regular black folks have such influence on sneaker culture?

Basketball sneakers are the closest thing we have to black owned sneakers that people would actually wears. Even if these guys are under contract to Nike, Reebok, etc we are still supporting a black man's brand. If you buy a pair of Air Maxs that's not the case
