I'm selling my collection to a buyer in Midtown tomorrow for 18k to put towards my car down payment.

And I'm sitting here thinking about it, like the shoe game is fukking gross now. Raffles and Camping and all this other bullshyt. nikkas rioting over Jays and shyt.

I started thinking to myself like man :patrice: when did it get this bad? And then it hit me :dwillhuh:

CACS :mjlol:

Back in the day, white people didn't wear Jays and shyt. In fact, they use to joke on nikkas for spending so much bread on kicks. 'You spent 180 on sneakers

"

Then in 2009 or so, Space Jam 11s dropped and the social media aged started and all of a sudden white people started fukking with Jays :scust:

I was thinking back to when I went to first Nyc sneaker con in 2009. And no lie, there were BARELY any White folks. It was mostly blacks, Asians and Latinos. I might have seen 3 white people that whole day.

And as soon as these people caught wind of Jays and Nikes, the whole cultures got ruined. The quality is lower than ever, I noticed it when those Flu Games dropped in 2010 or late 2009, and the quality was :scusthov: and they still sold out.

There was even a point in time where the flight club in NYC was a hidden gem. Before they merged the stores on Broadway. You could go in there and it wouldn't be packed. Just a hidden gem among real sneakerheads. Now? shyt is a hipster haven.

There is no more sneaker culture. I know this seems trivial as fukk, but you gotta understand that this was a part of my childhood :wow:

White people wearing Tims and Jays now just makes me throw up. Nothing is sacred :scust:

So I'm bowing out of the game. Every time these people touch something it gets ruined :scust:

I'm not a sneakerhead, my bro and cousin are
But there is no way you could solely blame one race for that hype because other races were always there too. Those exclusive kicks being available was not due to a group of black nike creatives stealing and reselling only to black customers
The long term value of sneakers is what created the hype. The ability to resale and make a ridiculous amount of profit is what changed the game. No longer was it a contest between friends and fans

Not true. As someone WHOS been involved for most my life, there was a point in time where white folks were NOT interested. It just wasn't cool for them to spend that much cash on sneakers. I'm not saying there weren't ANY white sneaker heads. I'm saying that for the most part it wasn't something they were interested in.

You right...the minute sneakers became an "investment" is when it went all to hell. I got shyt I can wear a few times and still get my money back

Can't blame just cacs for that. You got all these parents who cop Js for their 13 year olds. My moms copped me exactly one pair of Js in my life back when the 11s originally dropped and I was 15. Then add the internet so everybody knows the release dates and can count down for months. I remember copping Js on Sundays the day after they released and they still had pairs.
